PLA soldier seems to prefer to carry four magazines in their vest like this US Marine

Is there any info about higher capacity pouch like this one?

Cool pictures. I don't believe higher capacity pouches like that would be standard issue for PLA though. 4 magazines in the front seems to be a PLA tradition. Here's a picture of PLA soldiers in the Korean War with the same practice.

I am sure China invented the modern 3 or 4 pocket chest rig. Just about every high speed chest rig you see out there traces its lineage to the "Chicom rig". I still use them today, with fastex buckles on the back straps to make it much easier to don and doff. Despite being old, they are still viable and of course much cheaper than these expensive modernized ones today. Another thing I noticed is that a single pocket can hold 2 USGI aluminum or Lancer AR mags. Older USGI mag pouches were designed to only tightly hold 1 aluminum mag, so cant secure them with PMAGs while even older Chinese pouches have proven to be more versatile!
I wish the PLA would adopt a modernized version as well, with 4 mag pockets, Fastex buckles and velcro instead of wood toggles, Fastex buckles on the shoulder straps to allow QD functionality with modern plate carriers, and of course modern Codura and Type 19 camo patterns.

That guys setup looks similar to mine from 10 years ago lol. I ended up going back to velcro flap pouches because those bungee pulls get in the way and I actually prefer my mags to be completely enclosed.

Is the PLAN ever going to change their old camo too? As far as we know, Type 19 doesn't have a blue camo. Maybe they'll go for urban?

You got to understand it takes time for an organization to completely phase out not only older camo utility uniforms but also individual equipment too. That is why during transitional periods you see troops wearing mix and match equipment. MARPAT and brown suede boots were adopted in 2002 and if I remember correctly October of 2004 was the last day US Marines were authorized to wear old woodlands and tri color deserts or shiny black boots with their then new MARPAT cammies.

September 2019 is the last day the garbage UCP is authorized to be worn in the US Army. April 2021 for the even worse Air Force ABU. Even past those dates you will still see the old stuff be used by some National Guard and Reserves since they are the bottom tier of priority for new gear.

I am sure the PLA will do the same. I have not any any cut off date for all old Type 07 pattern uniforms and equipment. There have already been pics of PLAN Marines in Djibouti wearing Xingkong Arid combat uniforms so they are getting rid of that blue trash. Of course forward deployed troops get priority over POGs lol.

US Army had the same thing for deployed troops, except the webpage was ugly as hell, and supports like maybe 100 users simultaneously (just guessing based on refresh rate).

And oh, the uniforms have degraded in quality since the BDU and even the ACU days. I guess even prison labor aren't what they used to be.

This, on the other hand looks like it got ported over from e-commerce, slicker.

I also resent the egalitarian model the US Army chase after. For sake put some studdly dude with 5% body fat on your uniform page instead of some fuddly dude. Shit, just get the guys from last years Best Ranger competition.

I don't think the Asians play these games, they use actual male and female models.

Anytime you hear someone cry about "Chinese slave labor" just ask them if they know what Federal Prison Industries aka UNICOR is. American inmates making about $0.23/hr making everything from license plates, office furniture to components to the Patriot missile system. Body armor made by US slave labor contracted out to UNICOR subcontractors have been recalled in the past too, MADE IN USA must be superior right!? Lol

That is the woke emasculated US military for you, can't model real life GI Joes or Barbies in uniform because it will trigger some PC feminazi cuck in the ranks or out on Twitter!

Speak of which, have you seen the new US recruitment video? The one where the kid marries her gay mom?

Lol yes posted in that thread, you will know how I feel about it there!

Forgot to add, The USMC adopted MARPAT in Jan 2002 and completely phased out woodlands and black boots by October 2004.

OCP (Scorpion W2) uniforms were first available July 2015 and October 2019 is the cut off date for UCP pattern uniforms and older accessories like "sand" (more like white!) skivvy shirts and light tan boots.

OCP issue to new Airmen in basic training began October 2019 and the cut off for ABUs was April 2021.

So the USMC, being the 2nd smallest branch still took two years to phase out old uniforms. The Army being the largest, took 5 years. A military as large as the PLA might take just as long to completely transition, faster if they are more efficient than the slow bureaucracy of the US military.

Also, that "higher capacity" pouch is simply an aftermarket double stack triple shingle pouch to carry 6 mags.
