Just saw this on the news, PLA has these "field cultural enrichment supply boxes" (野战文化箱)for troops on borders, these typically include instruments like drums so that the soldiers have something to do in winter when the outpost does not have internet.

I've seen these before, and I always thought they were a joke or a meme. Turns out it's a legit thing lol....

Here's a clearer image of the "field cultural enrichment supply boxes" (野战文化箱). They come in several varieties: musical instrument boxes, sports equipment boxes, etc.

hahhahhah, that is so interesting! I always thought they were a meme. I have seen the drum set before, turns out there are 4 sets of these.

honestly the case looks more expensive than what is inside.

Personally, I'd pick the second set from the left. I prefer playing soccer/basketball/badminton over playing instruments... but it is interesting that all the instruments seem to be traditional Chinese ones...

I don't know....I could see any guy going for a tambourine or flute type instrument having to have it surgically removed from a bodily orifice after a few weeks.....
