the vest sure it lookes like a resonable improvement, but what is up with the new jacket , the whole point is to make it more breathable and more comfortable to wear , why make the dryfit part smaller ?
I don't really know why those shirts are cut like that, but its not that uncommon. You can see something similar in this video:

I never got my hands on one of this tectial uniforms , back in my days it was a special forces only item , I wonder if keeping the shoulder and chest part with the regular fabric is for durability, since the shoulder part go though a lot of wear and tear.

The newest US combat shirt has kevlar insert on the top part. I don't know if the Chinese also has it.

No the US combat shirts do not have a Kevlar insert.

Combat Shirts are made this way to help with evaporation as the materiel is better suited for that job than the regular uniform top when the Soldier is wearing the armor vest with SAPI plates. You see more of this type of combat shirt worn under armor in hot climates, but you don't see them being used in cold conditions.

Yes the BCS or Ballistic Combat Shirt (BCS) which is not the Army Combat Shirt (ACS). The ACS and BCS have different requirements, and the BCS is not normal issue.
SO yes I am incorrect that the US does have the BCS, (Thanks for the correction @Kejora ! ;))
BUT
The BCS does not replace the ACS and the BCS is not normal issue.

Now if the PLA have a new combat shirt and it has Kevlar sewn into it (or inserts), great for them!
