For years I've heard they've such hard shell over their soft helmet setup, the reason that they usually don't wear the hard shell too is ventilation reason.

So perhaps it's obviously cooler climate in the highland region, or today's Chinese armored vehicles comes with better ventilation?

Maybe, but the standard soft helmets have those high ridges that might not fit under the hard shell.

More sightings of the hard tanker helmets. I think they are finally being distributed more.

I wonder what PAP has strapped on the top of his helmet. Some sort of ballistic mask?
Perhaps. It definitely doesn’t look like a pair of goggles or a thick armored visor like that of old Russian helmets.

Lieutenant General
The guy looks like he might be a front line EOD specialist tasked with rapidly disarming any IEDs, mines or similar while being able to keep up with speartip forces and able to clear the way for them rapidly so they don’t get bogged down by such delaying tactics.

Note the face and neck protection he is wearing that no-one else has. The grey cord around his neck could also be for specialist bomb disposal/protection gear; as well as the unusual coil of cabling clipped to his belt, which looks suspiciously like it might be part of a remote detonator.

That might also explain his different gear and camo uniform if he is an outside specialist being attached to the main unit for this exercise.

Hard to say. Based on the media they release, they use airsoft or MILES like gear (basically laser tag) for force on force. From what I have seen so far, I don’t think they use anything that resembles simunition. So, assuming what I said about their lack of usage of simunition is true, I don’t think this is a force on force exercise.
