It'd work sure, but the deck clearance required for a V-22 series plane is pretty large IIRC, at least they can't launch / recover other craft when they launch / recover a EV-22.
YThe Osprey launches and recovers vertically. So they can recover more aircraft...and depneding on the run required for the F-35B, they could launch an EV-22 from the extreme aft position while taking off. But the AEW takes off second in any case, right after the SAR.

Then the strike/fighter aircraft.

French Rafale jet beats Eurofighter in $10bn India deal

Dassault Aviation will now enter final negotiations before any deal is signed for supplying India with 126 Rafale aircraft.

Correspondents say this is one of the world's biggest defence deals and is a major setback for rival bidder, the Eurofighter Typhoon.

Eurofighter lost out in December on an $8bn deal to supply jets to Japan.

Officials at the British High Commission in Delhi said they were disappointed with the decision and would now study the details.

A statement read: "It was expressly said this was about the cost of the contract, not a reflection on the health of bilateral relations between India and the countries."

The officials said they "genuinely believed the [Eurofighter] Typhoon offered the best capability now and in the future".

They also said it was "not beyond imagination" that India might decide the Rafale was not the right option as it continued the process.

Four other bidders had dropped out in the lengthy selection process

Wow about time too. Congrats to dassault, the universe knows they've been needing an export order... This deal should more than make up for past failures

Both China and India operates Sukhoi series and their derivatives. And now India has a canard plane to match China's.

It was interesting how after the first round the remaining contenders are Gripen, Rafael and Eurofighter, all canard aircrafts. Maybe they can infer something about the J-10 through operating these aircrafts?

This undoubtedly a life-saving victory for Dassault, if not just for the Rafale...the 20% rise of the Dassault Aviation stock price speaks volume to this.

For India, they better make good use of this deal to strengthen their own aviation-industrial complex, otherwise their home-grown projects would just be business as usual - cost overshoot and delays.

Until the day when Pakistan fielded J-10 and those 2 sub-continent states goes into war again, we might never know how the J-10 really fares.

LOL using actual conflict to judge the actual potency of a single weapon is not particularly wise. A conflict usually speaks more about the strategy, planning, logistics and numbers either side employs than the actual potency of a weapon itself.

I feel rafale was the right choice out of it and typhoon. IAF's already operated french mirage's for a while and weapons used for rafale may be used for mirage, etc so it lessens the logistics burden of the IAF's many fighter types a little.
