Problem is that these threads get flooded by Indian IT cell spammers and quality of posting goes down. Let's hope that admins get the banhammer ready faster this time, so it doesn't suffer the fate of the last thread.

In the meantime, a recent discussion comparing India and Pakistan.

I don't think India can pull it off ,at least not with the current political system and delusions of grandeur that permeate to the village. The world also doesn't need 10 more mega-slum cities

The proposals outlined in that post seem to me to be broadly correct for advancing India's economy.

The question is, does India have the required administrative/bureaucratic capability and capacity to make these plans a reality? I think the answer is no.

That's what separates China from the rest of the world (+ India). Thats why China can achieve so many things. Do you think that in the entire West + world nobody else has though about doing the same things China did?

Geniuses are everywhere, but the leaders and the system required to make these plans a reality is only in place in China. This is what separates India from China, and this is why Indians who have these ideas and dreams about reaching China's level are all deluded
