Hong-Kong Protests

Correct me if I'm wrong. But I got the impression that Joshua Wong was artificially put up as the "leader" of the 2014 Occupy Central protests, when in reality he wasn't actually that important among the protest movement itself back in 2014? I only saw mention of him in western media, but almost none from local Hong Kong coverage.

But by the 2019 riots, he did manage to gain local popular notoriety.

I thought it was the opposite. He and the others were more of the public face during the prior uprising. In 2019, the group seem more leaderless from a public perspective. Seems likes of Josh and Nathan were operating more in a secretive manner to approach help from the west rather than canon foddler on the streets.

Maybe it is something already covered in HK but I would like to see some theories of full graph and hieracrchy of the riot groups.

Took them long enough. Little roaches are fun to stomp and smack around but remember to do this at the upper level, deal with bankers, the union heads, the property holders, entertainment and hospitality.

Rectifications in SCMP and HKU are long overdue.

Why is the Hong Kong Free Press (HKFP) still be allowed to run? Why aren't the old anglo dudes (along with their anglo worshipping female "journalists") owning and running HKFP deported? Also, why are cockroaches still be allowed to boo at the Chinese national flag during public events? And why is Gramma Wong (yes, that union jack waving Gramma Wong) still alive and well?

Conclusion: are the HK national security staffs even doing their job? My city still needs a lot of sinicisation and decolonisation, especially the decolonsation of the minds and ways of life.

The best revenge will be turning HKFP into Wumao propaganda.

White worshipping is a disease widely infested among Asians, particularly in territories formerly colonised by Anglos and Frenchies. It takes generations, wars, tragedies and subsequent reconstruction of national, racial, cultural, and gender identities to cure/ameliorate such disease. That's why I see no hope in my SAR unless some Chinese nationalists are willing to rise up, turn the city upside down and cleanse it of its depravity and genuine self-imposed inferiority. When your house is already infested with roaches, you need to burn it down before you can rebuild it. Shanghai and cosmopolitan Beijing are the same.

They don't have ads and funded by "donation." They were explicity team-color revolution during the protest but seem to have throttle it a bit now. Oddly RFA won't block you on twitter while HKFP and its staff will.

Cultural revolution is the wrong term due to its negative impact on China's technological, economical and social advancements. But purge should be the right solution for HK, Shanghai and cosmopolitan Beijing. Make these three cities Chinese again! YET, STEM folks should be exempted from such purges and protected.

The past is the past. Leave it behind and look to the future.

After years of lackluster IPO activity, Hong Kong is back on track to be the world’s No. 1 listing destination. So far this year, there have been 41 initial public offerings in the city, Dealogic data show. At US$13.66 billion, offering proceeds have already surpassed the total sum raised during 2024.

Just give it time. That kind of mentality arose because after colonization, it's the most subservient who did the best, rose to the highest position and got wealthy. When everyone who does well is of the subservient class then of course foreigner-worshipping will be in vogue.

To change that you only need to target the elite and provide upward mobility to the non-elite. If people who do well are patriotic, then that's what everyone will aspire to be. You can't neglect the upward mobility part either. If people who are capable cannot rise up the ranks even when they're patriotic, then they'll try to rise up via revolution.
