Hong-Kong Protests

I still remember back in the late 1990's when FLG was at its height in China, my in-laws were loyal followers. They gave me some pamphlets of FLG. As soon as I saw the leader of FLG claimed to be the reincarnation of Buddha, I told my wife that this was a cult and her parents should stop following it.

You believe in Buddha to get out of the reincarnation cycle. Throughout the entire history of China, only a few wise monks have been called reincarnates of deities, but only after they have passed away for a long time. Others decided that these wise monks were reincarnates of Buddha. No true practitioners of buddhism in the entire history of China has claimed that he himself is a reincarnation of Buddha.

don't forget the lamas... Tibetan Buddhism is quite a contortion on Buddhism as well

religions which arose in harsh conditions, i.e middle east desert, Tibetan plateau, tend to pervert human nature
it took quite a while, until the reformation, for Christianity to become more mild in the European climate.

I think it has to do with the rigid social structures required for a community to survive in a harsh environment.

disingenuous to say "parliament" "mulling" this and that without reporting how much endorsement it has... it could be 1 guy and they'll report "parliament" says so... could also be 100% support but I guess I didn't read it carefully enough to find the numbers...

I guess at the end of the day it's a lot easier to talk shit about somebody else rather than trying to fix your own problems

Scientology....
I did say some call them a cult. Do you have proof that the CIA is funding them or is this another boogeyman?

Shadowy funding aside, I can certainly back up my own claim with a quote from that article:

One former Epoch Times editor told NBC News in August that practitioners “believe that Trump was sent by heaven to destroy the Communist Party.

There's no limit to how low traitors can go.

Honestly, I cannot for the life of me imagine why anyone not in the KKK would want to pose with ol' Cotton-mouth. Finally, there was some backlash to his so-called "conservative" (really, white supremacist) values after an editor of the New York Times was fired for running his tripe. However, I'm quite disappointed that he had to go after Black Lives Matter before he was called out in the mainstream for his xenophobia.

Also a bit sickening that the rioters are always portrayed as standing up to authorities, when they are the ones actually engaging in fascist activity like vandalizing businesses seen as supportive of China. Even worse when they specifically went after Fujianese shops, which is basically what the SA did (but at least they didn't kill anyone, right?).

These masked and violent instigators in Hong Kong who attacked innocent people will be dealt with by the new security laws very soon.
Most likely they were funded and instructed by foreign financers.

Many are foreigners were the instigators and led. Lots of Falungong and TW traveled there. Anyone that looks Chinese could've gone there. Don't forget the neo-Nazis too.

Falungong operates a big part of its propaganda out of Vietnam with Vietnamese people.
