Here is a very interesting development. Jimmy Lai has actually asked the rioters to clam down. The riots are out of control. So Jimmy Lai thinks he can cut ties with the hardcore black shirt to save the movement and distant himself and the movement from the violent.

Jimmy Lai urged protesters to calm down: "This is not the time for direct confrontation." Former HK Chief Liang Chun ying criticized Jimmy Lai for the sudden turned around to save himself.

Jimmy Lai, the founder of the Next Digital Media Group, today called for "protesters" to be cool headed facing the current situation. He said: "Our strategy is not to win against our opponents with fierce confrontation, but to slowly weaken our opponents with the indomitable spirit of moral authority. Now is the time for us to think calmly." Hong Kong's former chief executive Liang Chun-ying pointed out that Jimmy Lai attempted a gorgeous turn around. Asking for "Temporary retreat" and appear to "abandon the hardcore black rioters and cutting them loose." Jimmy Lai participated in the Hong Kong anti-banned masking demonstration today, but he wore no mask.

According to a report by the Central News Agency today, Jimmy Lai appealed rioters to be clam: this is not the time to fight hard.

In response to the announcement by the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Mrs Carrie Lam, the implementation of the "anti-mask law", Jimmy Lai criticized the Hong Kong Government for not trying to solve the problem and only want to suppress it. "this is a shot, this is fueling the fire. This is to declare war on the dignity of Hong Kong people."

However, he stressed: "At this provocative moment, we must calm down and prudently face this declaration of war against us. I believe that many of the more and more controls will make young people more creative to confront. These are not fair. The pressure will only unite the people of Hong Kong and strengthen our strength. This is the time when the law has been unable to suppress public anger. Carrie Lam is a villain."

The report said that Jimmy Lai today published an article entitled "This is not the time for direct confrontation" in the Hong Kong Apple Daily, and made the above statement. Jimmy Lai was named by China as the "Hong Kong leader of the protesters." According to Jimmy Lai's article, the dictator only knows how to solve the problem with violence. Under the direct control of Beijing, the Hong Kong government used the force of the police to solve political problems. Eventually, the police became extremely violent and the protesters were forced to respond with escalating violence. It is inevitable.

According to Jimmy Lai, "The only way out for them is to make the protesters out of control, or to invade the blame, causing great casualties, let the protesters lose the sympathy and support of the people and the world, and the situation is reversed, giving them an excuse. This is their only way out, and we cannot let them succeed."

According to jimmy Lai, the 721 police indulged the gang to beat the public. The 831-special police squad did not discriminate against passengers in the subway car. The police abused the tear gas, pepper spray against the demonstrators. Now they use the live ammunition to deliberately kill the students.

The report pointed out that Jimmy Lai emphasized, "But we can be angry, but we cannot be dominated by hatred. After anger, we can calm down, respond to rational and prudent and be vigilant. Hatred will only make us lose our sense of reason, and reckless behavior with revenge, fall into the police trap is a big mistake."

According to Jimmy Lai, it is necessary to stay clam to deal with this dictatorship, shrewd strategy and prudent behavior. "This is a war against morality with moral power. We can't let ourselves fall from the moral high ground. Otherwise, we will have no power. In the end, we will only lose. We must win, otherwise our freedom will be deprived, nothing will be there."

According to reports, Jimmy Lai also revealed that the police have found the identity of the more aggressive brave warriors. The infiltrators tracked down the protesters, they also know the addresses of these people, but they did not make arrests. They want to further motivate these people to increase their actions and cause major losses. The police wants to completely surround this movement with trap.

According to Jimmy Lai, "We can't take it lightly and fall into the net. In fact, even LIHKG Forum has known about this matter. The declaration of not part of the recent violent protests and cutting ties with the violent has been issued a while ago, in order to prevent us from falling into the trap by infiltrators and causing excessive violence. And falling into the police net."

The report quoted Jimmy Lai as saying that fighting the anti-extradition bill with the values of Western civilization, the fight against totalitarianism, the protection of Hong Kong's freedom and the moral courage of the rule of law, has won the resonance and spiritual recognition of the world's moral conscience, and the political support of their government. .

Jimmy Lai pointed out that these support gave a powerful force in the anti-extradition bill movement and caused great pressure on the CCP. It is crucial to the persistence of the movement. "We must not neglect, so we maintain our moral authority in the struggle for action. important". According to Jimmy Lai, "We are finally victorious in this struggle. It depends on our long-lasting and unyielding spirit, stimulating the greater spiritual and political support of the world, and putting more and more pressure on the CCP. The CCP was forced to give in."

According to reports from the Oriental News Network today, some scholars reprimanded Jimmy Lai for inciting young people to commit crimes.

The report said that netizens launched the "National Mask Day" operation today (6th) afternoon, from the Sogo Department Store in Causeway Bay to the Chater Garden in Central to protest against the implementation of the "Prohibition of Masking Regulations" (Prohibition of Masking). Jimmy Lai, the "Chinese traitor" of the "Gang of four", was accused by the official media and appeared in the Causeway Bay at 1 pm to join the parade.

The report quoted Chen Weiqiang, a lecturer at the School of Professional and Continuing Education of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, who criticized Jimmy for encouraging young people to break the law and inciting young people to mess up Hong Kong and to take advantages of the situation. On the other hand, he was not masked in the "National Mask Day". Chen questioned that Jimmy was afraid of being arrested, but he used young people to push young people to the streets, bluntly saying that if Jimmy Lai felt that it was unfair to prohibit masking, he should respond to the action of wearing masks, and then Go to the police station and fight against it.

Liang chun ying also wrote a letter at Facebook at noon today. He said that he said earlier: "Not cutting ties with violent" is the fundamental strategic mistake of the anti-extradition bill movement. "Jimmy Lai's is four months late to realize his mistake."

Protesters closely watched outside PLA barracks
Several men in camouflage uniforms kept a close watch from a rooftop on protesters outside the PLA's Kowloon East Barracks in Kowloon Tong.

One raised a yellow flag to warn the crowd to leave the area while some pointed flashlights at protesters on Waterloo Road.

A short while later, the protesters departed from the area."

Jura, these posts are examples of the way in which you post a tweet or an article where you offer minimal commentary of your own.
"This is an interesting development" is no better than "Now I see".

It is fine to occasionally post articles without your own commentary, however these make up a large fraction or even majority of your posts.

At least offer your own opinion on what you are posting.

Consider this a reminder. I will not unceremoniously delete these posts yet, however I want to emphasize that we do not need a play by play news feed in these threads.

OK Rick and still have that question from Today at 8:52 AM
Rick:

yesterday at p. 159 of this thread you as a Mod criticized me for chit-chat and for not commenting on numerous articles I've reposted, and it's true I occasionally chitchated, and it's also true several years ago I refrained from commenting on Chinese press-releases (as I explained
Aug 25, 2019), so I of course don't question your moderation or anything, but point to your attention posts at p. 160 of this thread calling for
  • intentionally shooting people by Police #1597 and
  • wrecking a ship with detainees on board #1599
I'd appreciate your opinion on those posts from your position of a Mod (maybe they present a satire? but even if they presented a satire, would they be appropriate?)
of course it's related to what this thread is actually about, so please address my question

Frankly my opinion is that this thread is one which I am a little bit surprised we are allowing to be kept open, however it seems like the mod team overall has chosen to let it stay open.
For better or worse it seems like this thread permits a level of discourse that is different to other threads, which given the violence of what has been occurring in real life, has created a different set of standards for this thread except for the most egregious offenses.

As far as my criticism of your posting patterns, I want to emphasize that I'm not only talking about your posts in this thread, but rather in all threads where your posts are made up of posting a link with "Now I see" or "LOL".
