I bought a PDA phone a month ago and i intend to use it in china for few month
I desperately need to know if my PDA can be used in china with out a converter

power adapter reads
Model: ADP 5FH B
Input:100-240V~0.2A 50-60Hz
output:5V-1A LPS
made in china

can i use this in china?
i know china uses 220 V on 50 Hz, but what does what does that ~0.2A mean? will chinese power stable enough for this device?
if not, what kind of converter do i need?

thanks in advance

You'll be fine. The A means amps, which is how much current the device requires, such a small number should not be a problem. (OTOH, something in the thousands, e.g. for electric home appliances, may be problematic for older wiring)

Well look on your console, it should say whether it is NTSC or PAL or both. THe older Chinese televisions use PAL. However, some of the new digitial/flat panel/shiney ones will support NTSC as well. Also look on the power adapter to see if ti supports 220v. If not, you'll need to buy a converter (220v to 110v). These are cheap (esp if bought in China). Gamecube isn't hot in China I don't think. Not as much as PS and xbox. Good luck finding games.

The adapter says:
Input: AC 120V 48W 60Hz
Output: DC 12V 3.25A
Can you fill me in?
Imnot much of a tech person:(

Looks like you'll need a step-down transformer (input 240v, output 120v). You can get this at bestbuy/circuit city/walmart/radioshack etc in the electronics section. Or you can buy it in China for a lot less (but taking a risk on quality). It shouldn't cost more than $15 USD.

Are you guys going to stay in someone's home, or at an hotel?
If it's someone's home, you might have a problem.

Note that some of China's outlets (old) is shaped like this:
l

The new ones shouldn't be a problem, sinve most outlets now use the
l
l l
shape ones.

As for the gamcube, you have an adapter with it right? (That big heavy square thing on the electric cable.) Most of them do 12V DC. (Don't know about the adapter taking 220V though.)
