you don't need ultra high end CNC machines for 99.99999% of machined products. in addition not all metal components are CNC. everything for mass production is forged, cast, extruded or sheet metal.
Most forgings, castings, and extrusions, make a trip through a CNC before further processing. And few modern combat aircraft use sheet metal skins and rivets. (Modern, not last gen.)

Hey guys.

Don't know was it for real... but in more than two Chinese internet forums there was a rumor that a big black chick was just 'taxiing' in the meadow of a northern chicken farm today.

Let's wait for further news but... wow! o_O
Do you have screenshots of the comments?

Even more strange since Xi'an is not really a "northern chicken farm"!

hopefully, but going by prior project track records I am not hopeful.

Russia and US both were able to develop conventional bombers from proposal to first flight in 5 years, US was able to develop stealth bombers in 10 years repeatably.
Keep in mind both countries had vastly more aircraft design/build experience than China.

They have more propeller plane experience. China has the exact same experience in the jet age with first fighter being made in the 1950s.
How many large jet aircraft has China designed and built? How many clean-sheet jet aircraft, of any stripe, has China designed and built? Now compare that to Russia and the US. It's not even close.
