Hmm, remains to be seen if they will indeed go for the folding tails. Though, if the stealth impact can somehow be managed, that'd probably make a very efficient solution to takeoffs/landings.

I also expect the intakes to be different, with simpler lips and possibly starting more to the back.

And I definitely don't expect that many cranks in the leading and trailing edge of the plane. The image seems to have a slight crank at the leading edge, near the nose of the plane. Plus the trailing edge, around the engine exhaust, seems either to be curved or to have two cranks... Too many.

Indeed ...

I read somewhere that the sawtooth/jagged trailing edge/rear lifting body of the B-2 was a design compromise to better low level flight performance (as opposed to the single “diamond point” with no cranks in the B-21). IIRC, they hamper LO efforts... if this article/report is scientifically accurate... I wonder why the tails (of this still hypothetical design configuration) aren’t triangular?

Also, part of the reason seems (to me) to be planform alignment with cranking on the front/leading edges (??).

Sorry in advance if this is an inane question. Hoping to be educated here...

Isn't the H-20 program supposed to be of a top-secret status?

How can the company so casually release these kinds of images (unless allowed by the PLA ofc)

However, that the company so openly showcases the plane it might mean that they have made good progress in their R&D and that they confident in what they have

For one, that same magazine released some J-20 images before J-20 made its first flight.

For another, other even more authoritative organizations couldn't resist the temptation to at least drop some hints before ("The Next" video etc.).

No, I'm suggesting those images definitely represent what H-20 will look like, since I don't really know. Just saying they're not completely groundless and there has been precedent.

I guess it's just artistic freedom if it was genuine we would already be seeing UAVs with folding tails design

I think this H-20 rendering is probably pretty close to the real thing.

I wonder what powerplant it uses. Perhaps a non afterburning variant of WS-10 or WS-15? In a flying wing configuration, 4 would be too many and eats into payload space, but 2 means that it would have the same dry thrust as J-20?

I don't see these as big deal in this age where the knowledge for creating a stealth aircraft and the computation power is easily accessible by academics, industries and gov agencies. China's design is also using public and maybe espionage knowledge of the B2/B21. It was a big deal in the 60s- 80s though for like the sr-71, f-117, and b2. Everyone was able to see the f22 / f35 via the competition phases well over 10 years before either aircraft went into service
