The border dispute between Russia and China has been resolved since 2001 and finalized in 2008. There is no land dispute between China and Russia.
Yes but then why did china release an official map that did not demarcate the agreement well causing controversy in Russia? This should be a mistake that shouldn't be made, if it was a mistake

Why is that even an issue?
I feel it paints china in an unreliable light. China has disputes with neighbours but a border that settled in 2008 that was not correctly demarcated on an official map is not great. I don't mind them pissing off India because that land is definitely disputed but a mistake with an island with Russia that should be resolved os a different matter. I know Russia needs china right now but it does deliver a signal about trust.

What exactly is an "official" map?

The agreement includes waterway in Amur River. China has the rights of passage in the Amur on the Russian control area. If China changed its map and demarcated by land, then China would lose the waterway. The agreement also grants China the right to use Amur to sail to sea.

Thank you. That's good info. I hope this clarification is Clearly laid out in Russian media. This event reminds me of When the US refused to recognize a waterway as Canadian instead of touting it as international water way, Canada protested. However their reasoning was to prevent Russia and China from also naming certain waterways for themselves and there was a coordinated attempt on all social media and online comments to promote that ridiculous reason. In the end Canada lost out and the US gained without offering anything.
