German Airbus 320 Crash in the Alps

A German Wings Airbus 320 flying from Barcelona to Düsseldorf with 148 people has crashed in France. The website of my favorite radio station publishes in its news article a graphic showing height and speed of the aircraft during its last flight, apparently received by the maintenance department of the company.

This will be a separate thread about the German Airbus 320 crash in the Alps. Post here about that tragedy.

sorry, delft, I overlooked this while posting

I was stressed while posting as I recalled my flight over the Alps 15 years ago, the skies were clear all the way to the highest parts of the mountains -- these were in the clouds, which we had to enter (?, destination was Zurich) -- the pilot warned everybody it'd be rough, and he was correct ... (but nothing bad happened)

The flight voice recorder from the Air Bus 320 crash in the Alps is now revealing very disturbing news.

Apparently, the Co-pilot locked the pilot out of the cockpit when he got up to use the restroom or something, and then began the descent to the crash.

Apparently the pilot can be heard first knocking on the door, then demanding entry and pounding on the door, and ultimately trying to kick his way into the cockpit just before the aircraft crashed.

They will be analyzing this guy and his background, health, medications, etc. now to try and determine what caused him to act as he did and lock the pilot out of the cockpit.

Something seriously fails to add up with this story.

He may have had the Means to crash the Plane (He was a Pilot), he may have had the opportunity (he was alone in the Cockpit) by nothing remotely credible as a motive has yet to be presented.

Most damning of all was the French Prosecutors description of the Co-Pilots based on the Cockpit recordings; he made no noise and was BREATHING NORMALLY ............ WHAT!!!!!!!

So are we really being asked to believe that somebody was so depressed that they decided to end it all and take everybody else with them and that nobody; in an industry extremely sensitive to such conditions among Air Crew, actually noticed!!!??
Impossible. Sorry utterly impossible. I have had experience of seriously depressed and suicidal people and it does not reach crisis overnight and it very soon becomes crystal clear that something is seriously wrong, even to ordinary people who are neither trained to recognise the symptoms, nor actively looking for them.

Then what a sudden rage? A "I'm as mad hell and I'm not gonna take it any more" moment?
Clue is in the Mad as Hell part. No way would somebody in that mind frame sit quiet for 10 minuets, especially with others shouting and banging at them from outside. If your that pissed at something, I think you would be using every moment of those last minutes to let everyone and anyone know what you thought about things and why.

Finally, "Breathing Normally"!!! No Way, Happy, Angry, Sad, Mad, Bad or simply Dangerous to Know, but not even James Bond could deliberately fly a Jumbo into the ground and breath normally. Its not possible .... period.

Plus it is of course, another unconvincing Air mystery.
So here is an idea. There is is a serious security/safety vulnerability in Commercial Aircraft and nobody in authority is prepared to admit it.

So this one defies logic? but where does that take us?? Makes it so much harder for those who lost loved ones??? Guy had an apartment? but still lived with his parents??

That's why I say it is very disturbing.

It is too soon for any of us (and IMHO this includes the authorities) to definitively say what has happened.

Best not to speculate.

What we do know is that the Cockpit Voice Recorder indicated that the Co-pilot locked himself into the cockpit alone, that the pilot tried to get back in...and that, for whatever reason, the co-pilot rode the plane all the way down to the ground.

Exactly what he was doing in there and why...we simply do not know.

The Flight Data recorder will give a clue as to what, if anything, he was doing during those several minutes...but the why we have no clue on yet.

As I say...they will be analyzing this guy, his life, his meds, his relationships, his beliefs, etc. in minute detail now to try and figure it out.

Not to say anyone should take this at face value, but sometimes fact is stranger than fiction. Let's see what the investigation turns up, at least the plane isn't possibly lost at the bottom of the ocean like MH370.
