I have my theory. The site you posted is normally accurate on PLA news. The link to the picture says in Chinese, "Can we fight an American carrier?". The picture was obviously Photoshoped to fit the question where a chinese ship is PSed into a picture of the harry trumen.

the luhai class is not chinese. if u observe, the number painted on the ship is white. chinese vessels usually have number painted in black.

Hey good find, I didnt notice it. theres something else too. chinese vessels are nomally painted white. that destroyer is painted in russian colors. Anyway, this picture is on almost every chiense site about PLA.

Thank you. Nope I can't read Chinese..no I can't.

I found a page on that site that appears to be about the US excersise near Guam a few months ago called "Valiant Shield".

Question..is their an English version of that page? I would like to read what the Chinese say about that excersise.

Actually Finn anyone that steps foot on a USN Cv during "flight ops" has to have on flight deck gear. Helmet, Goggles, Flotation vest, colored Flight deck jersey or long sleeves. And high top steel toe safety boots. Even the Pres....

A Navy SEAL? a Ferrari Tank, more military tech filtering it's way into civvy street, and more evidence that ordinary soldiers are only good for marching and guard duty...

Well, two things. One, if you are on the carrier flight deck during operations, there are requirements (due to safety) of certain gear that you must wear I berlieve. You can check with Popeye on that for confirmation.

Second, as I remeber, he flew in on an S-3 and actually did an arrestor trap (landing) on the carrier deck. I do not believe any President has ever done that, and it is inheritantly dangerous...so irrespective of what one may think of his politics...you have to give him credit for doing that...at least IMHO.

Okay, I admit to both you and popeye that one must wear all the gear and a carrier landing is dangerous etc. etc....I'm sure you both understand my sarcasm. I just thought it was kind of funny.
