This was from @Litebreeze's twitter post.
Why do so many people like Chinese takeout anyway? It's icky. The kung pao and General Tso's is not authentic at all. I mean they think orange chicken and sugary sesame chicken is Chinese food, it's not even Chinese food. Real Chinese food is so much more diverse and intense than some sugarized Chinese takeout food in UK and USA. I mean it's funny how many Westerners swear by Chinese food from Chinese takeout, but I have no interest in it cos it doesn't taste like Chinese food... actual Chinese food....

Westerners are weird sometimes. The Indian food they eat isn't real, the Vietnamese food they eat is sugarized and not what you find in Hanoi or Saigon. But they claim they've tasted the world's cuisines when it's all so artificial food.....

There is this thing between Chinese and Jewish. TIL.. Little history of customary Jewish tradition to eat Chinese food on Christmas..
My family is split between Christian and Jewish. The history on the tradition is somewhat convoluted, but at least in our family the joke is that the Chinese restaurants are the only ones open on Christmas and that Chinese don't care what religion their customers are. The New York relatives insist that the Jews and Chinese lived next to each other and Americans looked down on both when they arrived, so they became very close.

Hi Litebreeze,

HAhahahaha!!! A good one bro, a like the symbol of YING&YANG and the JEWISH STAR of David in that poster. Sharing the meaning of both our diaspora status. But I don't understand the god part ,maybe our Chinese ancestor had offer our dumplings and Siomai by mistake:):):)
Hi ansy,

The"god" part probably happened when that writing was written. It could mean a belief system of Jewish people. There are some foods Jewish people don't eat, and those foods are common in Chinese culinary. Thus come the proud and grateful part.

Because, even though its not "authentic", its still better than their local cuisine. If you're in the middle of Iowa or the UK and you are sick and tired of boiled beef and potatoes, anything with actual spice is going to taste like a gift from heaven.

If food was allowed to taste only one way, we'd all get bored of it anyway.
