FM-3000 SAM

This FM-3000 SAM took me by surprise. It seems to be using a variant of FM-2000 missile, meaning the sino-tor missile, with same/similar front section and a bigger rocket motor section, making the missile longer. And then it's all mated with a new, bigger radar and placed on a truck. Basically your usual SAM battery configuration, with command vehicle, radar vehicle and launcher vehicles.

Do you think a variant of this may appear in Chinese service as well? Is there a need for it? And is command guidance (assuming that remains) a good choice for a medium range system?

The spec sheet seems to indicate an active seeker with a data link rather than command guidance

My bad. Managed to miss that. Indeed, it features active homing. Well, that's a pretty potent system them. (probably also not that cheap). I wonder if there's room for it in PLA, though. Between 15-ish km HQ17 being command guided (and pretty cheap) and the 45-70 km HQ16, being semi active guided (also fairly cheap).
