Basically all star wars walkers with turrets on top.

But those helicopter and osprey wannabes look soooo inefficient and ugly. Looks like a second deck was added for engines. Having a second level on a helicopter kind of defeat the point of a rapid response type transport.

It's inspired by three things first is Lockheed Martin's Speed Agile offering to the USAF. Second the F35B and third is a real USAF SOC requirement for a Low Observable infiltration aircraft with near VTOL.

Sort of look like the Halo Pelican drop ship.

On January 22nd in the year of our lord 1984 AD Airwolf premiered on Telivision at the heart of the show was a modified Bell 222A helicopter. She was “The Lady” visually modified for the role the Bell helicopter sported fiberglass modifications designed by Andrew Probert well known to use for his work on Star Trek. The Lady as described in the premiere episode as a lifting body hull with a duel turbine powered rotor system able to push it beyond 300 knots at that point in theory she would decouple her main rotor and fly on two turbojet engines up to Mach 1 air speeds ( quite the feat for a helicopter) additionally she is armed with a mix of armaments including twin 30mm cannons 4x fifty caliber guns a missile launcher pod that can fire ATGM, air to ground weapons and Air to air weapons. Optimally crewed by three with one in the “digital systems command center” a copilot/ defensive systems operator and a pilot/ weapons operator. The Wolf in the name was to reflect her special nature at a glance all that specialize hardwear is concealed as a civil helicopter, But she is a “Wolf in Sheep’s skins”. The ultimate in covert action Airwolf did have some basis on RL Sikorsky Aviation and Bell had both been looking into concepts for decoupled rotor helicopters but nothing ever came of it.
