The FB-22 had a combat radius of about 3,300km and a MTOW of 54 tons.
I'm not sure why you're using MTOW when the relevant value should be maximum fuel stores.

For example F-35 fuel capacity is 18000lbs + 0(no external tanks) MTOW 70000lbs.

FA-18 fuel capacity 14000 + 13000lbs, MTOW 66000lbs.

MTOW is the primary consideration for whether or not a plane can take off from a carrier.

But the problem with touchscreens, the pilot explains, is a lack of tactile feedback. Switches have a nice, satisfying click that instantaneously lets the user know they were successfully flipped. Almost everyone with a smartphone has touched a virtual button on a touchscreen, expected a result ... and then nothing happens. The anonymous pilot reports failing to get a result from a touchscreen about 20 percent of the time:

, which replaces the heads-up display (HUD) as well as sensor displays. The F-35 pilot believes old-fashioned HUDs are superior due to their ability to better display information without the need to “shrink” it to fit the helmet’s field of view. The voice recognition feature also apparently goes completely unused:

I am a bit old fashioned (maybe) but before spending few (dozens) of billions for systems doesn't make it sense to test them in real environment ?

I mean, for few million investment I run better ergonomically/usability analysis than for this god know how many hundred billion project.

20% of unresponsive/bad command of HMI , and the extra time of recheck the button commands could negate practically all other improvements regards of decrease the workload of pilot, like multi channel thingies and so on.

Doesn't take a genius to work out that sometimes MICs can get a little too enthusiastic upselling the more useless side of their inflated wares. Not all advances are useless but some surely are. Sometimes antique solutions are still the best ones particularly when the activity is intensely physical. Maybe athletic is a better word. Tactile feel and feedback not just for buttons but everything to do with SA and visuals. But, if pilots and the USAF/USN form strong enough desires to change anything, they will be changed. None of this really goes towards showing the F-35 is a lemon like people prefer to do with these sorts of news. There's been a sort of current of F-35 negativity coming from the US itself recently. Could be nothing more than coincidence or just the natural pattern of military journalism. Could even be somehow related to their 6th gen program/s.

The above problems doesn't show issues with specific technology , it rather showing the (known) deep issues with the weapon design and procurement process of the USA military.

It is exactly like say a gold miner, whom preparing for the opening of his first mine from the advertisement section of the newspapers.

The pro know what he needs, design his own equipment only if it gives an edge, and doesn't waste time and money for unnecessary bells and whistles .

All that is saying the leaders of the military procurement process are amateurs .

The US Air force may order less F35 than originally intended with the ideal that not every aircraft has to be a high end stealth aircraft. High cost on maintenance and engine life is reportedly still issues with the aircraft.
