The DoD got tired of Lockheed delivering brand new aircraft that would be obsolete right after they entered service. So they delayed accepting new aircraft until TR-3 was finished.

the aircraft in question are TR-3. they just wont take delivery of them until the TR-3 testing is finished and they are verified in that way. Until then all TR-3 will be built and then stored. Ironically they will take earlier, non TR-3 equipped aircraft still :)

The versions used by the UASF and Navy have systems in which eh pilot has to initiate the ejection. On the Marine Corps version, auto-eject function according to seat manufacturer Martin-Baker.

So F-35B can expell the pilot out of its own mind?!o_O Better to be nice to the jet, otherwise you will be kicked out before you know it. Luckily the jet is kind enough to send the parachute together with the seat.
