"Digital" pattern camoflage uniforms

The latest rage in the US military is the "digital" or "pixillated" type camoflage patterns, as evidenced by the US Marines and US Army's latest outfits.

Will the PLA be going in that direction also, or maybe it already has?

The People's Armed Police (PAP) has recently received a new combat uniform with "digital" pattern camouflage. I'll try to post some photos later

Dongfeng, can you make some pages on sinodefence.com detailing the types of camouflage the PLA and PAP have? Thank you.

A quick check of the web shows one for the Chinese Armed Police Force (Interestingly, their buttons are labeled in English) at

. I assume this is in preparation for the Olympic games. I have read somewhere else (one of the many firearms sites I visit) recently that the PLA's subsidiaries had been in contact with some of the American camouflage makers such as HyperStealth on developing a Chinese digital pattern for the Chinese Marines. Here again, the Chinese are confronted with the same problem the Americans have. The new U.S. Army "dusty" digital pattern combat uniform will still have to be supplemented with "regional" pattern issues if we are engaged long-term somewhere. We have trainees from all the services at the base where I work. The "We Own The Night" Army personnel are much more visible both in daylight and after dark than the Air Force and Marine students. The Marines are more visible in the daylight than the Air Force students wearing good old Woodland Camo, but they're the most difficult to see after dark. Good thing we require reflective belts around these folks after duty hours.

says the current Type 07 combat uniform issued by the PLA is transitional, and that the "real" camouflage uniform will be issued in mid-2008 due to production issues. Are there any truth in this or pictures of the "real" Type 07 uniform?

This thread is to distinguish the discussions about digital camouflage and PLA service uniforms with a focus on the Type 07 combat uniform.

Re: Type 07 combat uniform

I think all to be discussed here will be covered also in the other thread.

Thread merged.

sumdud, where are you merging all the threads to? Why don't you merge all other related threads to this one since it has a better and more specific title? You can rename this to "Type 07 military uniform" if you want.

Okay, instead of merging that thread, why don't you merge this into that since it has a clearer title? Also, there are other Type 07 military uniform threads, why don't you merge this into them as well, since the title's not very clear?

Even better, can you create a Type 07 military uniform thread (one that has a clear title), and merge all other threads into it? Otherwise, it's hard to search for this specific topic thread.
