Not really. There are still some very large components that need fitted that they would have a hard time doing dockside, not the least of which is the remaining flooring and decking.
It was not uncommon for PLAN to run two prototypes. This allows planning errors to be distinguished from manufacturing errors.If the Chinese wanted to build more ships of the same type right away, wouldn't we already be able to see modules for a next ship on the building site?
For me at the moment it looks more like operational experience should be gained before the construction of the next aircraft carrier begins.
