Why? We have seen similar arrangements since months …
Really? Can you reference the post #s in this thread, where we have pictures of the aircraft spotted this way?

For example with the J-35 and KJ-600 mockups at bow and waist cats, respectively (with folded J-15 behind the latter), in what would basically be some kind of “action shot”.

Seems a bit superfluous to spot them like that, unless this is a candid picture in the middle of some kind of exercise where mockups are being moved around on deck.

Logical deduction. Because I can’t find or recall any pictures, outside of sea trial embarkations, where the mockups are so conspicuously / impractically spotted.

Even without the evidence of a fairly similar "action shot" from two months ago, it still wouldn't necessarily indicate that commissioning is imminent. It might just be for a video or photo shoot for the coming parade or preparation for another sea trial. Or just happenstance.

And again, why would there be mockups at all for the commissioning ceremony? That makes no sense.

Hm so just a reminder that the ship is working up to commissioning or some sort of hint that they will put her into service around 3rd September?

Who knows.
But personally I feel like if they're going to debut J-35, KJ-600, J-15DT, and redisplay a large contingent of J-15Ts, it would be somewhat on brand for them to also have the ship commissioned before then, such that the commentator says something like "these new aircraft will be equipped on the newly commissioned carrier Fujian" or something.

It would also make sense for them to as part of the commissioning, showcase the aviation trials we know they've done on the ship as well, because they've been holding that back for ages now for a reason, and having it released on/immediately prior to the VJ day parade would again by the sort of bland dramatic flair the PLA are kind of known for.

Or they might not do either of those if they want the carrier commissioning to be its own "thing".
