CV-18 Fujian/003 CATOBAR carrier thread

I’m surprised some people here think that China will base their new EM CATOBAR carrier off a 35 year old Soviet design that was never even realized. Even if China did get some blueprints, is anyone really that clueless to think the Chinese will copy the Ulyanovsk? Seems like some Russian fanboys cannot accept China’s aircraft carrier advancements.
The JAN 1991 cancelled "Ulyanovsk" fits better to the 003-Thread, because the 3rd Chinese carrier will have the most elements based on this Sowjet design. And this will be the last Chinese carrier with roots in the former USSR. Thereafter things will change to much more US-Navy-style designs.
Can you substantiate this statement in any way, shape, or form?

A few days ago, we heard from fzgfzy that progress on the '003' (formerly 002) carrier has been accelerated.

Soon after that, pop3 also followed up with a note that construction is progressing smoothly.

...

Earlier today, fgzfzy put up a new post regarding the new carrier. It's nothing substantial, but I think it's worth sharing.

"When parts for the 002 carrier (i.e. 001A) were fabricated, non-professionals simply could not identify them [as being for a carrier]. Thankfully, I've been keeping a record of those developments to preserve the information. That was a watershed moment, which showed that at the end of the day, military fans were just military fans, and even the most knowledgeable of them were at a loss. Even when the modules were assembled in drydock, there was still much debate as to whether the ship really was a carrier or just a civilian vessel.

However, this time at Jiangnan, it's a lot more straightforward. Even though camera angles aren't very good, the facility (referring to place of assembly) is brand new, and there is no possibility that any ship constructed there is not the 003. Hence, the moment we see components appearing there, we will know that assembly of the 003 has begun."

...

Two ships of this class will be constructed.

One by one, both in Shanghai. To benefit from the experience of the first ship with the second ship? Or in parallel, one in Shanghai and one in Dalian, to accelerate the construction period?

It would be one in Shanghai, one in Dalian, without even much thinking.

Alright going to try and translate this (my chinese is a bit rusty so bear with me) as best I could :
Estimations as posted on weibo :
Total length on deck 330 meter. beam 76.2 meters on deck.
Water line :length 300 meters. beam 40 meters.
Draft at full load 12 meters.
Dimensions (?)=0.625 (or is it square km ?)
Total displacement at full load = 90,000 tons
Angled deck length (I think that is what it meant)= 228.6 meters
Total surface area of deck= 20 000 square meters.
Hangar= length 200 meters, width 32 meters, height= 8 meters.
The last part seems to point to some reference of the distance between the keel and the deck (30 meters), i am not to sure.
It ends with a positive note of a seemingly lack of design defects.

If these estimations are correct, then we got ourselves a Sino Enterprise/Kitty Hawk class here.
Just gonna indulge a bit here and say this :
giphy.gif

They say that it is being constructed at Dock no 4 .

The recent photo of 055 unit 1 and the new ice breaker in that dry dock makes me wonder if the illustration by this guy is something he actually saw or just making up.

Of course, we also don't know how recent that photo of the 055 and ice breaker actually is... it is definitely possible that both ships could have been removed from that dry dock and for 003's keel to begin getting laid, but that would be some fast movement.
