the first takeoff of the J-15 from the Shandong aircraft carrier occurred on August 8, 2019. It took 3 years, until August 2022, to complete 1,000 takeoffs and landings. The next 1,000 were achieved 7 months later, in March 2023. By July 2025, the total reached nearly 10,000, meaning approximately 6,000 takeoffs and landings were completed in the following 28 months.

I had misread the figure and my calcs were wrong

A glimpse of the below-deck portion of Shandong's arresting gear system.

It's actually quite interesting from the recent guancha guy episode. They mentioned that CV-17 was basically just flying from spot 3 take-off in the recent deployment. It's quite possible they were trying to see what kind of sortie rate they can generate from longer runway.

Again, mentioned up to 10k take off/landing on Shandong in 5 years.
The fact that they are talking about this now maybe indicating that Shandong has achieved full operating capabilities?
IIRC, guancha folks said PLA only considered Liaoning to have achieved that status in 2021.

very interesting here, they mentioned that on more advanced future carrier, you can expect to not only see drones but also other unmanned/autonomous platforms like AI robots an autonomous vehicles to replace some of the tasks that crew members are doing. That would certainly reduce the pressure on recruitment
