So why does covid-19 mutate while the common cold coronavirus do not mutate? Is there a reason for this? According to data, common cold coronavirus aren't particularly high despite high covid-19 strain.

Not true. Common cold coronaviruses have already long mutated that current flu vaccines are already obsolete and useless against them.

(Bloomberg) -- Around 110,000 British workers are off sick with long Covid symptoms, costing them £1,100 ($1,320) in lost earnings at a time of an escalating cost of living crisis, new research shows.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies estimated that one in 10 sufferers in employment are forced to take leave on vastly reduced earnings. Statutory sick pay in the UK is just £99.35 a week.

The financial hit -- amounting to almost £1.5 billion a year in total -- is adding to the strain on households being caused by the fastest inflation in 40 years. Those who were less well off before the pandemic are more likely to have persistent coronavirus symptoms.

“The impact of long Covid has continued to grow over time, with almost 2 million now suffering from the condition,” said Tom Wernham, a research economist at the IFS and author of the report. “For a significant minority of long Covid sufferers, the condition has severe effects not only on their health but on their ability to do paid work.”

The analysis shows how the virus is continuing to inflict a toll on the economy a year after remaining restrictions were lifted. The most common long Covid symptoms are fatigue, shortness of breath, loss of smell and muscle ache.

Bill Gates joining the Jai Hind chorus. He just had to, since he is partnered with India.

Meanwhile in real life:

Despite China for delivering 1.5 billion more vaccines than India (UNICEF figures). Bills Gates won't congratulate China, because its not his vaccines.

Someone needs to remind Bill on this by way of twitter.

I came across this CNN article. So what? The west no longer wanna blame China for the origin of Covid-19?

New studies agree that animals sold at Wuhan market are most likely what started Covid-19 pandemic

, scientists from around the world used mapping tools and social media reports to do a spatial and environmental analysis. They suggest that although the "exact circumstances remain obscure," the virus was probably present in live animals sold at the market in late 2019. The animals were held close together and could easily have exchanged germs. However, the study does not determine which animals may have been sick.

Initially, the Wuhan lab theory is started by the Republicans. Biden administration picks up the Wuhan lab theory to undermine China but CNN was never a big part of spreading this conspiracy theory.

It probably is due to the fact that promoting the Wuhan lab theory is hurting China as much as it hurts Democrats as many conservatives tie big government sponsored lab as the culprit behind covid. Bill Gate, Anthony Fauci and Democrats were accused of conspired to develop and spread covid to undermine Trump administration and make huge profits selling vaccines.

I saw that the Japanese newspaper Sankei Shimbun also relayed this report.

Vicious political attacks as always.

There's a section on Weibo about the commenters' translation, but I won't share it for now. They still stick to the same argument they made two years ago, insisting that they want China to make reparations for the world. Some netizens insisted that the virus was made in the laboratory.

I am not surprised by the Japanese attitude. But the Chinese people have had enough of this practice of leaving their own problems (dereliction of duty in epidemic prevention) to others to bear the cost.

Considering that their situation is still serious, this view is still an attempt to transfer contradictions: the audience only cares about which country the virus originated.

Look at this gem.
U.S. officials have also criticized China’s “zero-COVID” policy of mass testing and lockdowns in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19 in its territory, labeling it misguided and fretting that it will further slow global economic growth.

Wait... wasn't it just a few months ago that US officials was criticizing China for not doing enough to contain COVID which hurt the world economy? The double-standards is amazing.
