Indeed. This is how CRUX, a typical Jai Hind media and fellow Jai Hinds show their gratitude to China. First, by having their beloved government not officially accepting aid from China. Second by badmouthing China for delaying any aid flight to India. Third, by accusing Chinese manufacturers of price gouging. Well to be fair, the other non-Jai Hind Indian media have called for India to grow up and accept Chinese and Pakistani aid.
But I wanna address the Jai Hinds. India is in no position to chide China for any aid delays or pricing issues. It is fully India's fault for creating the conditions for this Covid-19 tsunami crisis in the first place. All those packed cricket stadiums, packed religious festivals, and packed election rallies. Those are India's fault, not China. Then, it is India's fault for not procuring medical gear and building up infrastructure for a second wave which will most certainly come. It is India's fault for treating Covid-19 as a joke, for declaring victory over Covid-19 on Feb. Well, Covid-19 has proven yet again that it is no laughing matter. All of these factors combined created the acute Covid-19 crisis that India faces today.
The Jai Hinds are delusional as always. When you put in orders on an emergency basis, what do you expect? Do you expect stocks to be readily available? Do you expect India-China flights, which India had worked so hard to curtail to suddenly open up? Do you expect manufacturers to give you discounts? Why should Chinese manufacturers give discounts if you are gonna book their production quota for months on a short notice? Besides, why don't you go and try asking for bargains among American and European manufacturers. Tell them to drop their prices below Chinese prices for the sake of helping the 'world's largest democracy'. LOL! A little reality check. India is in the position of a beggar right now. India has zero bargaining power. And India wants to chide China?
What India needs right now is tens of thousands of O2 concentrators, ventilators, and tons upon tons of other medical gear. UK have so far only sent 495 oxygen concentrators, and 140 ventilators. The US and others have only made pledges and announcements so far. My guess is that whatever the 'free world' could provide, its not gonna be nearly enough. Only China can realistically produce the oxygen concentrators and ventilators in appreciable numbers that India needs right now in the shortest possible time. Indian leaders should be kneeling on the ground, groveling, and begging China to help India. But we all know that's never gonna happen. So good luck to them, and pray for India.
