Maybe a silly question. We have seen Chinese vaccines taken by several high-profile heads of states like Joko Widodo and Erdogan. Even Joe Biden has already taken Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine. But to my knowledge, there is so far no news of Xi Jinping or any senior Chinese govt official getting their own shots of the Chinese vaccines. If they did take it, then it is puzzling why there is no news about it by now.

I'm confident that the anti-China media is gonna pick up on it one day. There are already rumours around me asking questions about why Chinese leaders are not taking China's own vaccines.

If there is news about this that someone here can find or have already posted. I'm interested to know.

I'm confident they had it long ago. Probably multiple vaccines just to get extra protection.

Maybe just senior officials and not Xi cuz he afraid of getting assassinated XD. You just need the people he contacts to get vaccinated.

The first alleged assassination attempt took place when Xi was having a medical examination in 301 Hospital, and the method of attack was a lethal injection from a poisoned needle. However, the plot was revealed before it could be carried out, according to the the article.

From what I heard from Beijing contacts is that pretty much everyone at 301 hospital there got whooped and sacked and who knows what else afterwards.

Then xi took revenge on bo xilai and zhou yongkang.

"All we Indian staffers were voluntarily vaccinated," Jinbi, who is from India's Kerala state and works at an Indian restaurant in Shanghai's downtown Jing'an district, told the Global Times.

The restaurant Jinbi works for has some 10 Indian employees, all of whom received the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine earlier this month under the guidance of the local market administration authority. They are waiting for their second shot.

Jinbi said he felt a bit tired after receiving the first shot, and some of his colleagues had muscle soreness. None had severe side effects.

"I made no bones about receiving the vaccination," he told the Global Times at the restaurant on Friday.

"I would like to get vaccinated here," said an Indian man engaged in the art industry in Shanghai. Besides health considerations, getting vaccinated will make his future travel from and to China easier, said the man, who prefers to be anonymous.

Confident with Chinese COVID-19 vaccines, the man said he doesn't have concerns about their efficacy or safety.

"We feel that they have been tested well," he told the Global Times on Friday. "As we hear from [the] news - healthcare professionals, logistics professionals and teachers have already received the vaccination, and we haven't heard of any issues."

Back in India, by contrast, people reportedly respond coldly to the India-developed Covaxin vaccines. In Telangana state, local Health Minister Eatala Rajender said healthcare workers there "were reluctant in taking Covaxin," Indian media The Economic Times reported on Monday.

"On the first day, we administered less than 200 Covaxin doses," it quoted Rajender as saying.

Off course, Western and Indian media would label this as CCP propaganda. That these Indians who took the Chinese vaccines were either fake, or were coerced into taking it. Nevertheless, these interviewees might have to lay low if and when they return to India. The Jai Hinds are not gonna like what they've said.

Are you joking? 301 is the premier military hospital in Beijing. My mom's aunt used to run it back in the 80s-early 2000s. She is literally a 1 star general. Please don't quote stupid Taiwan "media".

While this is not something to condemn. They just can't resist to have a dig at China. China does this as well, but gets called "vaccine diplomacy to spread its influence" into whatever country.

In too many English-language press. West, Indian, Qatari, etc, China's benevolence must always be viewed with suspicion. But India's benevolence must draw praise. Double standards as always.

Do you know Canada has reserved enough vaccines for about five complete immunizations per citizen? The United States comes second with roughly four vaccinations per capita, and the UK has ordered enough for about three vaccinations per head. It all looks great, but sadly these first-world Western nations do not represent even a quarter of the world. So, while these affluent countries are busy stockpiling, who is helping countries in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia? The answer, is China.

I think the proof is in the pudding. Once there are millions of people being vaccinated with the british-developed indian contract manufactured vaccines, we should pay attention.

Until then, millions of people in multiple countries have been vaccinated with CoronaVac and Sinopharm, and millions more are being vaccinated each day.

The UAE will be reaching herd immunity with Sinopharm soon, about the same time Israel will with Pfizer.
