I'm posting these gems for posterity, now that the cases in the U.S. reached a record high. Remember China was supposed to be the "sick man of Asia" and the outbreak would have been "China's Chernobyl":

I honestly wonder how is Gordon Chang doing now that his predictions has no only gone completely fubar but now it seems that the nation he is current in is a genuine sinking ship

Now China doing all this testing that the US is incapable of managing is all just theater to make Beijing look competent. Too much testing is "overkill". Yeah it's the opposite in the US because the lack of testing is totally because Trump doesn't want to spend the money. They don't want to talk about how when you think everything should be privatized, everything has a profit motive hence why the lack of testing because it hits profits when just thinking about how much money you're going to lose is a factor in their decision making process. Someone who can't claim equal success by doing it differently is in no position to judge. They want to see more death everywhere else out of principle because doing it their way is most important.

Testing is also costly. Wuhan's 10-day spree cost 900 million yuan ($134.27 million), according to official figures, even as the government intervened to keep costs low.

Think about how much China would've lost if it wasn't controlled.

Just like if Trump took it seriously, the costs would be a whole lot less.

Early on, mortality rate was high as 10% in many places. Had China not controlled the pandemic, imagine losses of up to 10s of millions of people. Especially considering how many have bad lungs from smoking and pollution. Also so many old people.

We would've all lost someone we know.

GDP would've dropped by like 50%.

The CCP would've been overthrown.
