That's untrue. Even Japan with highly vaccinated elderly population with Western vaccine got slammed hard in their recent outbreak.

In aus, also highly vaccinated population, after opening up the leading cause of death became covid, pushing heart disease to 2nd place.

That makes sense, in the delta wave Japan had more stringent restrictions in 2021 and public gatherings were less common, low number of cases means low number of deaths even with more deadlier variant, they decided to drink the mRNA coolaid and follow the death cult, now even with a less virulent and less deadlier virus if a lot of people are getting infected a the same time that means more deaths. Is just plain mathematics.

30000 cases x 0.01 delta variant death rate = 300 deaths
300000 cases x 0.003 omicron death rate = 900 deaths.

so your own source says that COVID is still the 3rd highest cause of death and more than 50% that of heart disease. This is unprecedented for an infectious disease since the discovery of penicillin and eradication of smallpox.

The actual overall death rate increase was 17%.

its already affect economy + social life, the longer lockdown just mean more protest

yes, that's per 100k, but that's misleading because more people can get infected. The reason the infection and death rate is declining - for now, we don't know what the winter wave will look like yet - is because already 1/2 the US population got infected and rest are vaccinated.

thats just speculation. i could also say the opposite but with data from CDC.
but its your opinion. so whats your solution? lockdown another 2 year or more. after 3 year COVID is not gonna become mild as flu anytime soon.

lockdown as much as needed and close border to tourists and travelers that refuse to obey quarantine laws.

Let me ask you this - what if COVID was a bioweapon? Given China's population and age structure up to 1 million could die from this. A single terrorist attack causing 1 million deaths can cause countries to fight decade long wars or use strategic weapons. But COVID can be stopped by simply staying indoors more and working from home more. So what is better, WW3 or staying indoors a little bit?

I read only 1 out of 20 Americans or 5% have not been infected by COVID according to Harvard researchers.

I am part of this 5%, and even my wife and I are going maskless after our 2nd booster except in non-ventilated situations like airplane. The virus is never going away, sooner or later, China has to determine an acceptable minimal amount of death that is not US-level, but is not zero either.
