Most likely a Rare case of Severe AEFI but authorities cant publicly say that as it will create vaccine hesitancy. Feel bad for the mother who had to run to Beijing to get answers . Clear case of failure of Local authorities in handling the sensitive situation.

These kinds of smear stories against China are a dime a dozen. You can be sure the article left out highly salient details that goes against the intended narrative.

When there are thousands, if not tens of thousands, of reported covid vaccine related deaths worldwide, and they're only able to dredge up one story of a covid vaccine related death in a country with 2.2 billion doses administered (representing about 1/3 of the global number of doses), it shows how safe the Chinese vaccines are.

Propaganda is a powerful tool.

Have you seen such dramatic "petition" for vaccine related death in any other country? And related "news coverage"? I have seen NON.

Here is the quote from the "lawyer" who advises the mother.

According to Li Guanjun, a legal advocate who has been advising the mother, Jiang Yanhong was not satisfied with the hospital’s explanation that the girl died because of brain dysfunction caused by septic inflammation.
The existing medical materials cannot prove the direct relationship between the death and the vaccine, and [Jiang Yanhong] does not recognise the conclusion, and has applied for another assessment,” Li said.

So the Mother and her adviser know that there is no material against the conclusion of the hospital (even if there is connection), then what difference can her "petition in Beijing" make? Even if the local authority does not stop her, what other explanation is she possibly expecting?

“She is now detained while she is still waiting for a reply from the medical association in Puyang about her request.”

She went to "petition" even before she got a reply of her second request. So basically, she has made her conclusion REGARDLESS what other doctors would say. Then again, what is the point of petition? Is she even going to allow the Health Ministry to have its own conclusion that may be different from hers? What about her demanding the supreme court to accept and only accept her conclusion?

Now about the "failure of local authorities". I think in many other countries, people in this case can knock the doors of the supreme court or block the motorcade of the president to put their petition even though they have repeatedly failed to get what they demanded from lower courts and governments. The local police won't stop them because it is not their duty. But the guards of the supreme court will send them to police for felony, the body guards of the president will arrest them for assaulting, that is for sure. Would that be a failure of the central government in handling sensitive situation? The difference you are seeing is that in China, the local police does that "dirty" job.

Yup. It's pretty bad. Unlike SARS which only transmits symptomatically, covid transmits asymptomatically. Very difficult to catch infected people. Only way is testing every person every day. Unless you don't care about it just like you don't care about all the other coronavirus species.
