@SteelBird At least you have the vaccine, here we borrow the money but the condition attach is to buy from western pharma which is expensive and will arrive in late MAY at most which isn't guarantee with reported hoarding from India and from other western country ,my guess it will arrive in September instead.

$15MIL divided by 1.5mil that's $10 per dose, Hun Sen was given a big discount!!! here the cost is $40 for 2 shots, twice the amount. YouR gov't sure know how to bargain with the Chinese....LOL

I believe The Philippines got some donation of vaccines from China. I don't know the quantity.

Here is what I know about our vaccines program:
1. Sinopharm, donated by China 1st batch of 600,000 doses for priority groups, status: out of stock for 1st dose, still running on 2nd dose
2. CovidShield (AZ made in India) donated by COVAX 1st batch of 324,000 doses for elderly group, status: being inoculated every day
3. Sinovac, purchased from China 1,500,000 arrived on 26-Mar-2021. status: not yet get approval from MoH (Ministry of Health)
4. Sinopharm, donated by China 2nd batch of 700,000 doses scheduled to arrived on 31-Mar-2021
5. Johnson & Johnson, announced by government, status not clear
6. 2nd batch of CovidShield donated by COVAX, announced by government, status not clear

As the outbreak of Covid-19 in Cambodia is getting more and more serious with double digit infections every day, both government and people are getting nervous. Now, as long as we have access to vaccines, we will take it. Don't care where it comes from.

@SteelBird total donation received as of March 26 2021, 1 million doses of Sinovac vaccine all donated by China (having received the latest batch of 400,000 this week) that is all we got (1% of the total population :( ), we have the money to purchase but told to queue and wait for our turn. That's our current situation which is sad. We are a treaty ally with the US and they treat us like shit, that's the reason why Duterte is revoking the VFA to force the American hand.

Regarding the outbreak, our street block containing 4 high rises condo building is under lockdown for the last 6 days and our daily cases is rising from 2,000 per day to 8,000, there is a covid fatigue among the populace, this may serve to undermined Duterte popularity. China is the only country that can help alleviate the suffering as there is a plan to sabotage the vaccination program by delaying the deliveries of the Western vaccine.

A huge article on COVID from New York Magazine

I'd say it's really comprehensive, although it glosses over a few things:

1. China/Taiwan literally have zero cases most days
2. China is also vaccine powerhouse with 5 vaccines approved and over 5 billion doses in the pipeline

How the West Lost COVID How did so many rich countries get it so wrong? How did others get it so right?

It is weird as both Indonesia and Brazil have received their bulk ingredient on time but Turkey didn't.

If you look at the 32 million short, it means china has still delivered 18 million doses to Turkey to date, which is not unimpressive. I think the issue is Brazilian and Indonesian deliveries are now switched to raw ingredients (i.e. not syringes and vials) which might make deliveries alot faster than turkey. Still its important that Turkish orders recieve priority, they were instrumental part of Sinovac trials and they are an important partner at multiple levels.
