Boeing produces F-15, F-18... what did COMAC produce?
The American justification will be "State-owned = military ties". Plus with WTO down the tube the US doesn't need to do anything.
Trump couldn’t ban Tiktok but somehow could magically pass a blanket ban against Comac and by extension doom Boeing and GE aviation almost a month into his lame duck period. Come on people.
Yep if China turn their back on 737max recertification, they will make a total chaos of the remaining stability in Boeing civilian Business. The Civil Aviation Administration of China said that there was “no set timetable” for the resumption of services of the 737 MAX in the country. I think it's better to the US to not put COMAC in their blacklist...
Another interesting idea is to ban all Boeing planes from flying over Chinese airspace (including Hong Kong).
Only airlines that receive permits from China would be permitted to operate Boeing planes in Chinese airspace, allowing Chinese airlines to operate their existing fleets.
This would actually make Boeing unviable throughout much of Asia. If Russia joined as well, it could actually do enormous damage to Boeing.
This is an extreme sanction and should probably be reserved as retaliation for something more important.

Another idea, to expand upon this, is to prohibit all airlines that fly in Chinese or Russian airspace from purchasing Boeing aircraft.
This could very potentially backfire. However, it's an interesting gamble. If it worked, I think Boeing would be crippled.

Nay, giving monopoly for Airbus would be bad. Just make sure airlines understand that they should buy at most 1 Boeing for every 9 Airbus.
