China has instructed all Chinese airlines company to stop taking delivery of Boeing aircraft and parts! Do keep track of what effect on COMAC C919 and C909 and what Trump's reaction will be.
If China already took delivery hundreds of engines and other components that are made outside China. COMAC can still complete more C919 and C909 until the engine inventory runs out, and Chinese made engine may get certified just in time.
If Chinese engines do not get certify in time, we may see a Huawei type of temporaly slow down before picking up again a year or 2 later.
Meanwhile Boeing seem to be falling into deep dark abyss.

Wu Guowei, the deputy general manager of AECC Chengdu confirmed that, CJ-1000 would be able to power a C919 on verification flights “soon..
CJ-1000A going to be certified quickly.
the only problem i m seeing, COMAC don't have alternate engine for C909.. they thought it is not economically feasible to design brand new engine for ARJ-21 because of order book. only 250-300 units. this is reason why CJ-500 put on hold since then.
Edit - there are some rumors about ''CJ-500 development resume''.. need to verify this news but if you check my old tweets, AECC said, we could deliver CJ-500 in record time.

Well if recent agreements work out C909 production could be hived off to VietNam (which may still be able to access Western engines) and COMAC could concentrate on its other projects.

623 Institute, located in Xi'an, aka Aircraft Strength Research Institute of China, has simulated 12 extreme climate types over 15 years. Successfully supported airframe strength tests of various aircraft types, from civilian C919 to other military ones. It has become the world's largest climate lab.
Typical extreme climates: super snowfall, super cold, super icing, super rainfall, super solar radiation, etc.
These tests were briefed on AFC 2025 conference from April 12th to 13th. Here's a media report. And the video is just under the Wechat post's title.

Not necessary 100 percent a bad thing, extra time could allow COMAC to iron out some kinks with C919 and potentially have C919 with CJ-1000A certified at the same time.
On the note of C919, is there any plans for upgrades(ie. fully composite wing)? I do know that some people within the industry back in China doesn't seem to be very happy with how conservative the design is and to be fair I have to agree as well on paper the specs do not seem that impressive compared to competitors like A320NEO and B737MAX. I remember seeing @sunnymaxi say that the CJ-1000A is rumored to be slightly worse in fuel burn than even the LEAP-1C which some say is a LEAP series engine in name only while still using older tech. If indeed being true(Hopefully not) I don't see how a fully domestic C919 is going to be competitive internationally without some upgrades or unless the fully domestic variant is so cheap that the price tag outweighs the extra cost due to being less efficient than competitors.
