I inquired with a number of manufacturers on Alibaba. None of them was confident I could grind peanuts without adding some liquid without damaging the machine.

Since Chinese companies started to replace Japanese companies as OEM for Western companies, it was relegated to making 'legacy products'. They don't make airfryers or electric pressure cookers. As long as the major Chinese white goods makers dominate in the manufacturing, there's no worry about the quality.

But if it is the small players dominating, then you see more one stars on Amazon.
Don't buy too cheap, after all, you get what you pay for, domestic brands are good quality!

What a load of bull crap. This guy threw in every negative narrative that the West can muster against China including the kitchen sink spun into a story about climate change. The West wants to make it sound this is average for China when it's obvious that the West has collectively agreed to intentionally say everything negative and nothing positive about China. The left in domestics politics paints the Republicans and the right-wing as racist white supremacists but the one subject both parties can agree upon which is China, the Democrats follow the right-wing narrative. When Republicans and Democrats agree, they want to make it sound like the universe is one and therefore somehow the correct direction when it's just Democrats showing their true nature which is racist. Of course Republicans and Democrats can agree on China. When they think of themselves as the two only choices that bind the universe together like good and evil or light and dark and then they both see another force threatening to take away what they both want for themselves, of course they're going to agree. But in reality all they are are two white supremacist factions bickering with one another over who's going to dictate to the rest of the world what's right and wrong.

What the article doesn't mention is the one thing that trumps climate change with both Republicans and Democrats is wanting everyone to embrace their culture and get everyone in the world to be like them. And what are they? The biggest polluters per capita in the world more than any Chinese ever will be. Wrap that around their f*ck*ng brains. That's more important to them. The Democrats don't even see that when they think they're the most evolved thinkers in the world. The same white supremacist song just sung to a different tune. Do they really want the world to be just like them? No, that's just the bait to get people to want what they have because they control what is valued in their culture and if other people want what they control, it means they're in control of them. That's why they don't see the contradiction that they want to hide behind climate change but their culture is the dirtiest in the world and they're leading people to want to be like them? If they were truly evolved, they would see that but all they want more is everyone to want what they have just so they can ensnare them into being under they're control. This article sums up what it's really about. They're just using climate change in order to bash China just like this is the one time Republicans will care about climate change when they don't give a crap about it. If they admitted it was really about white supremacy at the heart of it, no one in the world would be listening to them except for white supremacists.

The writer is an OPINION PIECE WRITER, his vast wealth of expertise on the subject matter is that he's a writer par excellence on SCIENCE FICTION, AN ESSAYIST and like a true noble western parasite/supremacist of course comes out with another China is doing X,Y,Z horrible things absent actual objective contexts that China leads the whole world in actually building, scaling up the renewable sources of energy. But that fact would inconvenient these know-nothing hypocrites.

Something interesting.

Based on company announcements, we may be looking at 3 Million Tonnes of solar polysilicon capacity in China by 2025.
That would be enough for roughly 1000 GW of solar panels annually.

Then theoretically it would only take 11 years to replace half of the world's electricity generation capacity with solar panels.
My gut tells me that 50% of all electricity generation produced by solar is the limit of what is economically feasible.
Then you've got wind, nuclear hydro etc. Plus some coal and gas plants for the winters and for backup.

Of course, that leaves aside issues such as:

1. Battery storage for when the sun doesn't shine
2. Vehicle electricity demand (1 billion vehicles globally x 5 KWh/daily on average?)
3. Increases in electricity consumption

China now dominates both solar power and wind power. For solar power:
China’s share in all the key manufacturing stages of solar panels exceeds 80% today, according to the report, and for key elements including polysilicon and wafers, this is set to rise to more than 95% in the coming years, based on current manufacturing capacity under construction.

For wind power:

China also plays a critical role in the refinements of essential metals for clean energy:
