Those two models looked like mini/QQ-versions of the 055 DDG.

My impression is this could be an optionally crewed system somewhat comparable to the Singaporean MARSEC USVs.

Yeah thats the same design as shown above. I'd say its at least optionally crewed, given the very generous bridge etc.

Crew take her in and out of port, rest of the time in less busy waters she operates autonomously?

That would be one explanation. Somewhat like the Jari USV-A/Orca and some other designs I suppose. Again, thats just me speculating. It could not be a USV at all and instead some crewed littoral combat craft. They are quite fashionable across the globe too.
