Great news, not a lot of news about that engine maybe because it's not for the top of the line fighter. Still it's quite an important engine for the JL-10 and proably UAV projects. It's quite a step from the AI-222-25 that have 4200kg thrust and a thrust ratio of 7.5 for the afterburner variant.

A JL-10III or is it called JL-10C? from the 72nd AB

And another JL-10C - often referred to as the JL-10III - assigned to the Shijiazhuang Flying Academy (CTC), 1st Training Brigade at Shijiazhuang (?).

It is the MAW. Some enterprising individual might’ve taken it off and sold it after the plane got shot down.

Does anyone have access to the video? It appears to mention L15/JL-10s are being re-engined with, presumably the indigenous WS-17s.

Not on YouTube yet but no surprise there since they can’t export it without a domestic engine ready.
