"...immersive metaverse..."

I'm wondering what immersive metaverse could be. Is it something one eats?
You know how slavery and feudalism was such a dystopia for a lot of folks they had to invent a heaven as a reward for working yourself to death.

Well given how societies are more atheismic then ever before and less capable of delayed gratification. They need to create a metaverse to escape to after their workday.

Just upgraded my Internet to fiber 300Mbps up and download. To my dismay, I discovered that my hardware can't use that bandwith because it does not have 5G and I am limited to 100Mbps. I guess I will have to upgrade my hardware pretty soon.

Honestly, this box isn't much of a upgrade if you have access to cheapish intels/amd like in the US. You can get amd notebooks with 5x the cpu power for 2x the price. This processor currently is more for hobbyist that can deal with the limitations.

Well like most of the western world already lives in a fantasy world already. Why not let them take it to the next level?

Just an advise, just connect your PC with LAN cable (make sure the LAN cable rating is Cat6 or at least Cat 5E) straight from router

Regarding the Zhaoxin-cpu based computer, it looks to be comparable to things like this:

These are refurbished Dell OptiPlex computers which you can get in small-form-factor, mini-itx and other sizes too.

Which if you configure to be similar to the Beelink SSF computer, is slightly cheaper but roughly comparable in price. Of course, the Beelink computer is new, and with a couple of USB 3.0 ports as well as native HDMI ports. The Dell OptiPlex comes with DisplayPort output if you buy newer refurbished ones or just VGA ports if you buy the older ones.

The beelink also loses the DVD drive.

A brand-new Dell OptiPlex is about $800 to start, but you get a brand-new CPU

Not much else over this Beelink though.

Businesses buy the new OptiPlex computers to use as low-capability workstations, so for inventory tracking, word processing, ect ect.

But at the price point and CPU performance, the Beelink is competing against the refurbished OptiPlex computers that you can find on Ebay or other resellers. The people who buy those tend to use them as media stations and connect them to either external hard drives or a NAS unit. In this use, the Beelink has the advantage of 2 native HDMI outputs but not much else, and loses the DVD player.

Is paying an extra, say, $30-40 worth getting a new mediabox? Or paying $50-80 if you spec one of the refurbished ones below what you get from Beelink?

I'd buy it, because its a start and I think buying one now will encourage more development in this area. An extra $50 to get out of the Intel/AMD environment is no big deal.
What I'd look for is how easy it is to add storage. If I can replace the 1TB harddrive with a 10TB HDD easily, and even more have 2 HDD slots so I can put a RAID setup in it, I'd think it is pretty worth it.

This is a good start. Its replicates the performance of something old that you can only get refurbished, but is new, and therefore offers some modern specifications but at the old price. There's a joke in car circles where if we could, we'd all prefer to buy used cars fresh from the factory. That's what this is, basically. Used business computers from the factory.

Thank you antiterror. I am sorry and apologize for hijacking the forum to ask a technical question, but you seem to be much more knowledgeable than I.

I am not 100% sure changing ethernet cables will do.

As I said, my Internet connection is now 300 Mbps both up and down and it works beautifully with my phone or tablet, actually getting speeds over and above 300Mbps.

Now as far as my PC , my Ethernet hardware reads:

Link speed (Receive/Transmit): 100/100 (Mbps). <-----------here is my limitation

Well, I have just tested and got 93.8 Mbps for Download and 93.3 Mbps for Upload

Which is perfectly fine considering the 100/100 (Mbps)

Now, as far as my wifi is concerned, this is what I have

SSID: XXXXXXX
Protocol: Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n)
Security type: WPA2-Personal
Network band: 2.4 GHz
Network channel: 1
Link speed (Receive/Transmit): 144/72 (Mbps)

The problem is I get nowhere near the supposed 144/72 (Mbps)

This is what it tested

PING ms ................. 5
DOWNLOAD Mbps . 44.95
UPLOAD Mbps ....... 48.58

Any suggestion as to how I can get at least close to the 144/72 (Mbps), without buying a new computer?

Try LAN as I advised before, even your ethernet adapter is 100Mbps, it will hugely improved and much more stable, easy to do and won't hurt you trying it .. I am 99% sure it will improve your internet experience. I notice the wi-fi is very old protocol (11n and 2.4 Ghz)

I had the same issues I patched my own cat 6 cable because I needed a custom length and wanted to only bore a small hole in my wall.

I made a mistake in the patching of the cat6 cable so it would only get 100mb/s max on my wifi 6 modem with a 1000mb/s connection from my internet provider. I had to fix the cat6 cable first before I got my full speed.
