Nice article by Dutchman but he doesnt know much about SMEE. SMEE is a relatively new company. It developed and released its 90nm DUV Lithography equipment recently in 2017-2018.

End of this year it will release its 28nm DUV Litho machine SSA800.

In April this year it has developed a 22nm DUV Litho machine which will be able to make chips in the 5nm node.

I also note that the US Government has recently sanctioned the Harbin Institute of Technology along with 33 other companies. Harbin has developed the DPP EUV light source. This goes to show that the US Govt and US Semiconductor Industry is worried about the development of a EUV Litho machine by China. This whole sanctions idea is based on fallacy that China will never be able to develop advanced litho machines. Once China develops EUV, their whole game plan falls apart with huge losses for US & EU companies.

What does this have to do with semiconductors?, please keep this nonsense off the board.

Pardon me, but I can't find anything on the SSA 1000
SSA800 is the 28nm DUV machine coming out in December which can do 7nm node.
SSA1000 is assumed would be the 22nm DUV machine just developed in April 2020 which can do 5nm node.

It doesnt specifically mention SSA1000 in the article but SMEE DUV machine Model number is SSA and all new models would be in this series.

This article also give a history of SMEE and general info on manufacturers of semiconductor equipment in China.

On the Shanghai Micro Electonics (SMEE) Website the official designtion is SSA.

The official model number of the 90nm DUV machine is SSA 600/20.
There is a SSB 600 but it is for an older 280nm machine.

But really who knows? We will know the official model numbers closer to the date of release of the machine.
