Oh man, I can't wait to see what kind of dumb actions us govt will take with this one. DC blob won't rest until they lose all sales to china.
What happen? I tough that the morons on D.C. do not want to sale technology to China? More less Chinese state sponsored server companies? AHHH I know. They want to have it both ways. They think that they are the ones who make the rules and they decide what is on sale and what is not in China own home market not the Chinese goverment.

Take a look at this. New Huawei built jinan data center is far and away the most powerful research center according to isc 2023

It's score is 12.5x that of pengcheng 1 lab. Which means it's like 12 eflops in computation probably.

Huawei has really firmed up its tech and stepped up its game since sanctions started. Now it can just build all these new data centers with all domestic technology

Why does the PRC allows this? Tell nvidia to fuck off. Why allow this to be partly developed in China for the gain of hegemon and zilch benefits at home.

USG gave NVidia permission to continue to develop H100 in China:

China allows it because it trains Chinese chip
talent and results in indirect technology transfer. This isn’t a bad thing and helps companies like Huawei obtain better talent when they poach those developers.

The US allows it because they figure the main bottle neck for China isn’t chip design - where China already has world class companies - but chip manufacturing. This is why they banned US citizens from working in the Chinese chip equipment industry. The goal as always is to make China dependent on US & allies so they can dominate the supply chain and call the shots.
