THE BIDEN TEAM IS CONSIDERING COMPLETELY CUTTING HUAWEI OFF FROM US SUPPLIERS - Micron, Qualcomm, etc..

most likely US will ban MediaTek, Samsung, etc.. selling to Huawei since they are using US technology

Intel and Advanced Micro Devices Inc. provide Huawei with processors it uses in its Mate range of laptops, while Qualcomm sells Huawei processors and modems that are the core components of its diminished range of smartphones.

Timing for a decision could coincide with the four-year anniversary of Huawei’s addition to the entity list in May

How about you write everything in one post instead of posting 4 one-liners worth of thought?

Like @KYli had posted it's a sign of defeat and desperation....lol

The local alternatives:

1) Micron = YMTC

2) Qualcomm = Hisilicon

3) Xilinx maker of 5G RF chip antenna = Huawei Hisilicon RF chip, Fuman Microelectronics and Vanchip tech.

The American had reached restriction saturation...lol what more can they sanction, cause the end results is Huawei is still alive and kicking. ;)

Chinese listed analog chip companies Fuman Microelectronics(富满微) and Vanchip Tech(唯捷创芯)said their 5G RF chips have started supplies to Chinese mainstream mobile phone and ODM manufacturers. Industry observers call it a major indicator of technological progress by Chinese semiconductor companies.Mar 18, 2022

US Halts New Licenses For Export To Huawei

The Biden administration has halted the provision of licenses for US companies to export technology to Huawei, as it moves closer to imposing a total ban on the sale of American technology to the Chinese telecom equipment maker.

According to the Financial Times, the commerce department has sent notification to various companies to let them know that it would not longer grant export licenses to sell American technology to Huawei
Currently, the number of U.S chips in Huawei's network products is 1%.... and they will lose 100b/year, just Huawei... from this year...

TOKYO – Japanese makers of semiconductor manufacturing machinery and materials used to make chips said on Monday they had yet to hear from Japan’s government about export restrictions that could directly or indirectly affect their business in China.

In times like these, we can only rely on fact.

The facts here, are public statements. So the facts we can surmise are thus:

  • There was some sort of meeting between USA, Netherlands, Japan, where something was agreed.

  • The Dutch PM stated that due to the sensitivity of the topic, no further comments will be made, therefore, do not ask any questions, because this is a secret.

  • AMSL has said do not expect anything for them to change in the coming year.

  • Japanese companies have no clue of what anyone is talking about.

From the first two statements, it would appear that a secret agreement has been reach.

From the reactions of the companies that could be materially affected, this ban itself is still a secret.

So, I would think, the obvious conclusion, is that this is a secret agreement, about a secret ban.

The Americans would describe this as the Twilight Zone.

So help me out. When it comes to business, the Chinese have no sense of humour. Only the making money is funny, nothing else is funny. What would Chinese people call this, the equivalent to the American Twilight Zone?

:D

What we can say, which is the same in American and in Chinese, these peoples are playing games

The games of secret agreements and secret bans is just a waste of time for the companies to figure out.

At least there is something to talk about.

:p

The news that Huawei was out of crisis mode must have hit them hard. Ideologues often exhibit a lack of flexibility in their approach, failing to reassess their actions even when there is overwhelming evidence they are not effective .Doubling down not to lose face is all they know :D :D :D :D

US industrial groups are getting impatient. Alan says he doesn't care about profits but US companies do.

-They fear that Chinese companies will design out US equipment from their manufacturing processes and non US companies will design out US parts. Once that happens will be an uphill battle to regain market share.
-They fear that they have lost decision making power and the process has become one sided. Kind of irony if you see the power the military industrial complex and big pharma has over US politicians.
-They fear that there is not enough commitment to export controls from US "allies" despite Bloomberg and the Financial Times bombastic headlines.
-The fear of losing revenue.
-They fear that the process is becoming less transparent and even more convoluted "believe or not" than before.

The prepare the popcorns boys because this will be a showdown between Alan Estevez and US semi industrial groups.
It could be that US semi industrial groups will try to appeal to corporate Republicans and corporate Democrats while Alan has the back of the Pentagon and Chicken Hawks Republicans.

The hawks always win, it's just an embarrassment how industry keeps getting punched in the face and they do nothing about it.
