Pershing 2 did not use SAR.
China has made breakthrough in Gallium Oxide Power Amplifiers and will move to there when America moves to GaN with APG-85
so GaO based radar will be more advance as compare to even incoming APG-85 ??
what's so advanced about APG-85????
It's limited by 60-80kW cooling on F-35.
As I said in my recent space, F-35 is really limited in what it can do.
Does this suggest J-20, J-35, J-16, J-10C are all potentially using GaN technology?!

You serious? GaN based radar has been applied on Type 055's many units, J-20, J-35 (this sort of goes without saying since GaN was adopted by second phase J-16 batches). J-20 was well known to have applied GaN. By then, even many of the China haters with a reputation to protect relented this. J-10C is an unknown as its radar has never been observed to have changed. J-10C was introduced right around when that borderline period. IIRC J-16 early models differed to the J-16s we are familiar with. Many hundreds of J-16s have been built since then so it's not clear if they've updated those again. The J-16s do not come with suffix so we've only defined two "blocks".
That would make some good battlefield surveillance radar. I'm curious if it will be linked into some form of Dedicated drone interceptor ala KURFs
