did the US employ laser blinder during iraq invasion? according to US report, during an attack against iraqi city, US employed some sort of "secret weapon" ,some speculate it could be laser blinder.
during the 70's US did experiment with laser blinder .a prototype actually mounted on modified M-113.

I heard that EMP weapons were deployed in Iraq.

Ugh, the closest thing we have in our inventory that "blinds stuff" is the (some designation) MCD (Missile Counter Measures device). It acts like the Shtora system on Russian tanks, that detects when it's being painted, shines a bright laser at the seeker head of the incoming missile, and makes it go off target. The difference is that the MCD is mounted on it's own, so you don't have to swivel the turret to face the incoming missile like you do if you have Shtora.

There is no way that is PRESENTLY true. The facts will show that the US still is ahead in photonics. But if you must know the gap is closing.

For US installing laser weapon into F-22 and DDG-1000 are their next program, I hope to see Chinese version of that program not just on plane or ship but also tanks (blinding,warning, anti-projectile), maybe sub (detection another sub, guided weapon, shooting aircraft).
