A total of 2,296 delegates were elected to attend the upcoming 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), according to an official statement released Sunday.
Under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the delegates were elected in accordance with the Party Constitution, the CPC Central Committee's requirements, adopting methods required by the CPC Central Committee, the statement said.
The process upheld the Party's nature and purpose, adhered to and enhanced the Party's overall leadership, and fully embodied intraparty democracy, it added.
The delegates are composed of outstanding CPC members who are highly-qualified ideologically and politically, have good work styles and high moral standards, are competent in discussing state affairs, and have made remarkable achievements in their work, the statement said.
The spectrum of the delegates is broadly representative, meeting the requirements set by the CPC Central Committee on proportions of delegates from various sectors and backgrounds, said the statement.
Among the delegates are Party members both in leadership positions and working on the frontline, a considerable number of female Party members and those from ethnic minority groups, as well as those from various sectors including the economy, science and technology, national defense, judicial, procuratorial and public security sectors, education, publicity, culture, health care, sports and social administration, it said.
The eligibility of these delegates will be verified by a special review committee before they attend the upcoming congress.

You have to see who oppose Xi and why. In every account I've seen ranging from Cai Xia to Guo Wengui, the reason is, Xi is trying to remove the corrupt, the traitors and the exploitive. They put it as a "crackdown on dissidents" but how come so many of these dissidents happen to have boxes filled with cash? It's been proven over and over with the crackdowns on money draining industries like private tutors, crackdown on corruption and continuing Hu's purge of foreign agents.

So you have to think, if they're opposed to Xi because of his policy, what does that say about their own beliefs? And when you look at their profiles how come so many are escaped officials or corrupt businessmen? I mean is that a coincidence?

They discovered being able to only talk english and do social media is not enough to keep their working visa/permit?
China is not a rich country on the per capita level. It is just a modest country with a little more wealth than Russians or Mexicans. Sustaining unskilled migrants and ones who dont want to work is a luxury that is mostly not afforded.

If you look at Indonesian, Vietnamese and Pinoy contract workers going to China, these foreigners all work their asses off to stay in the country. And eventually if they want they can get a citizenship, start a family in China or simply earn money for their relatives and return home.

It is all about sustaining your own costs and not being a net burden to society, frankly, China has less money to spend on an individual level than countries like Switzerland or Norway. Migrants need to pay for themselves regardless if they're low skilled or have university degrees, but in the latter case, of course there are friends and colleagues on the Chinese side who can help sustain costs.

Note that English is one of the hardest languages for Asians to learn, particularly from Han character language systems (Chinese and Japanese). And these guys often fail to even learn rudimentary Spanish, which has something like 40% word similarity with English. US state department estimates that it takes only 600 hours to learn Spanish but 2200+ to learn Chinese, Japanese or Korean. I think the reverse is true as well - it takes 2200+ hours for Asians to learn English. I also think that they're hilarious in rating Vietnamese as easier than Chinese/Japanese/Korean because even though it has Latin letters, it has 60% Sino-Vietnamese vocabulary, tones and complex grammar like honorifics.

Chinese people (at least most of the middle aged and younger generations) are at least helped in learning English by the fact that they are familiarised with the latin alphabet as part of their basic language education through pinyin. If nothing else, that is step up as a jumping point for learning English.
