I don't understand your question.

Put simply, this bank would mean that poor countries now have an alternative to get their funds from apart from established international organizations.

Having another choice is always a good thing, no?
Not to US who would obstruct World Bank or IMF financing infrastucture that advances the interests of Iran. An obvious way to export oil and natural gas from the countries to the North of Iran would be by pipeline through Iran, but the US insisted they must go through Afghanistan. That's also why they want to keep their forces in that country.

What is the point of this new bank ? Isn't China already part of that new BRICS bank and now another one ? It has launched today with 21 founding members at a ceremony. But without South Korea, Australia and Indonesia due to US pressure. As time goes by i'm sure more countries will join. But once again what is the point of this new bank ?

Interesting India is on board. Normally I would expect them to be on the anti china side. Even without the US's insisting. I guess this time their interest would be better served by siding with China

I want to share a good documentary series that discusses China's social, economic, and political developments. In my opinion it was fairly unbiased and did touch on some important questions. The series is called China's challenges, its writer/host Robert Lawrence Kuhn has been a long-term advisor to China's top leadership. It was aired in 2013.

You can watch the series here in full HD:

I've only watched about 10 minutes of this and I know it is a good documentary.

The West has a lot of elites, a lot of really smart and visionary scholars, and they often, like many others, write articles and make documentaries. But the real pain is that such good ones which introduce and describe China as it is, both her achievements and real pressing problems, are often not popular with the public.

The real smart and analytic mind sees the picture and tries to use their knowledge and experience to tell the story, but it's just utterly sad few are willing to accept it.

Very true, usually a "normal" view of China doesn't have as much news worthiness to the foreign public. If someone is not really interested in learning about China this series might even seem boring, as the narrative doesn't emphasize on anything too shocking, bizarre, upsetting, or moving. The narrative was calm and rational, but doesn't feel cold. As a Chinese I do feel touched by its seemingly benign depiction of ordinary Chinese people's life and struggles.

China’s massive environmental crisis has its traditionally secular state looking to religion to encourage deeper values, more compassion towards nature, and the creation of what some governmental officials are calling “an ecological civilization.”

I found the second season of the series, just aired a week or two ago:

Out of all the English-speaking Chinese appeared in this series, I think that the one who speaks the best English is that school girl in the first episode taking IB course in a Shanghai school.

I think she speaks more naturally, accurately, and with almost no Chinese accent at all. Even better than some of the scholars who have lived in the US or other western countries for decades.

I'm very happy to see this. I think it truly shows where China's future lies.
