a year or two ago, there was a rumor supported by a photo that China is test flying a heavily modified J-11/J-16 airframe with a su-34 style side by side cockpit and flattened radome, but instead of su-34 style movable canards it had a greatly enlarged chine on the sides of the forward fuselage.
