Via Weasel_1962 Not exactly chinese engine but it bear relation as to the status of WS20 Seem like no new order for DK30 since 2016. Interesting it give us some idea how many Y20 are produced sofar 30-40 but there are engine available until it reach 45. And planned H-6K production is around 120 wow probably mixed H-6K, H-6J, H-6N

Link claims 463 D30 engines imported from Russia for H-6K & Y-20

2009 - 55 D30 for 20 H-6K (weasel's note: ties with Sipri reporting which indicated this may also be for Il-76)

2016 - 170 D30 for 40 Y-20 (Not reported by Sipri)
2016 - 54 D30 for 20 H-6K (Not reported by Sipri)

Sometimes I feel like China is just as closed of as North Korea regarding military developments even though the country has opened up a lot. Things like these reaffirm that feeling.

It'd be nice to know the numbers associated with the VC Engine.
Actually a better comparison would be with the former USSR ... North Korea has virtually no weapons development beyond its nuclear weaponry and ballistic missile technology, all of which are demonstrated pretty frequently.

You mean something like the F-14?
or the engine intake like the SR-71?

It has nothing to do with engines or engine inlets at all. The aircraft supposedly can change its aspect ratio by rotating the planform by 90 degrees. There was an example of an UAV that could do this but I can’t find it.

has successfully completed testing. It will be used in the upcoming high-altitude engine test bench. It's capable of moving air at 20,000 to 25,000 cubic meters per minute and has a pressure ratio of 8 to 9, which is the highest in the world among industrial axial compressors. The unit has a total length of 11.5 meters, a width of 5.7 meters, and a height of 4.5 meters; the total weight is more than 400 tons. The core component of the hollow rotor is nearly 11 meters in length, weighs nearly 70 tons, and the inner diameter of the rotor is 1.4 meters.

Think it was displayed at the 2016 Zhuhai show.
