damn ..

as per the CCTV, this is high-thrust, low-fuel consumption, high-bypass ratio twin-rotor turbofan engine AEF1300 independently developed by AECC made its debut.

Weibo fans are saying this is WS-20 ..

but it looks like CJ-1000A new name. and this is the first time AECC display real civil engine with nacelle.

It shouldn't be a CJ-1000A. CJ-1000A's fan only has 18 blades, but this one has 22.

Since it was put in a group of WS-10 variant engines, logically it should be developed by the same core with WS-10's, which means it should be a WS-20 or a variant of WS-20.

I also noticed that the two engines with victor trust nozzles belongs to another group. I suppose engines in the group are not related to WS-10 but new generation engines, like WS-19 or WS-15.

Am I right to say that the fan blades in the model is composite with metal(titanium) leading edge?

The subtitle is AEF1300 which is the alternative name for CJ-1000A. Unless CCTV is putting subtitles on wrong thing.

As the possible reason of different number of blades. This one in the screen dump looks to be composite blade. I have asked the question in #7044.

The earlier CJ-1000A ground test article was hollow titanium blade. Could it be that the number of blades are changed due to change of material?

Last year’s CJ-1000 mock-up also showed carbon fiber fan blades and had 18 of them. I think this is just a different engine. Maybe tailored to military requirements.

AECC major plant in Shanghai has world class facilities , fully automatic and high tech.
So CJ-1000A is ready for certification and mass production? Does this mean we don’t need LEAP engines for C919?
