Not even France has such an engine.
Wasn't WS20 in the final lap of testing mode for vast majority of forum members. What new progress is there regarding it? I don't think the article divulges anything new other than that the lead got accolades and recognition for the work done. We can only guess that the engine is a success.

But we have also not seen a second aircraft with four WS20s.

The content is basically saying rather officially that the WS-20 is finishing up final laps and passing these last review and tests.

It's just confirming the rumours we had about WS-20 being near ready for operational service on Y-20s.

Will EU market still remain open to China if they have nothing to gain from the trade? How are they going to pay for their purchase of Chinese goods? Trade is two way, single sided trade can not last for long.

I think that you are thinking in the say way as the American sanctionist who based on the assumption that China can not live without US product. The fact is nobody has to rely on others, not the Chinese, not the Europeans. If China is willing to sacrifice for the great goal of C919 by paying longer time to build its capacity, by paying extra cost, why do you think that others is not willing and able to pay for higher cost if they have nothing to gain from trade with China? The reason that I talked about EU market is to win a party who does not have fundamental conflict with China, one more trading partner than enemy, to include more in China's camp. The only reason that China is to cut off Boeing is nothing but because US government choose to be enemy. Of course Boeing has to fix their crap first, but that is not the main point.

That is how the opium trade started. No one wants that shit again. One sided trade is no good for either side.
Europe exports a lot of luxury products to China today. Think clothes, handbags, perfume, etc.
Then there are things like Chinese tourist expenditure, which is steadily climbing. Many Chinese students given issues in USA and Australia.

Remains to be seen if this is enough to counter the outflow of capital.

I guess this passage
Shen Xigang (recommended channel: China Aviation Development Shenyang Engine Research Institute) , researcher, full-time chief engineer of China Aviation Development Group, national major science and technology project of a large aircraft with a large bypass ratio turbofan engine, a new long-range aircraft engine and other key models Designer, enjoy the government subsidy of the State Council. He presided over the development of a number of national high-tech engineering aeroengines, and made outstanding contributions to solving the long-term control of the power of the main battle equipment of the Chinese Air Force. He is an important leader in the field of aerodynamics in my country. The first large-scale aircraft with large bypass ratio turbofan engine developed by him has successfully flew for the first time, realizing the autonomous power guarantee of my country’s first large-scale aircraft, making my country the fifth country to independently develop such engines after the United States, Britain, Russia and Ukraine. Political and military significance and huge economic benefits.

What are engines comparable to WS-20? Soloviev D-30 ?
Ws-20 is a high bypass turbofan, the d-30 is a low bypass. They are not comparable directly but both will make the Y-20 fly. WS-20 will certainly reach a higher trust and better fuel usage than D-30, making the Y-20 way stronger. A low bypass engine will still have a better high altitude response time than a highbypass but the higher trust margin of the ws-20 will alleviate that problem..
