Chinese Engine Development

Yes, I'm referring to the character.

So, according to the chart, WS-15 and WS-20 are seen to be further along than the development of the improved variant of WS-10A and WS-9.

That is not defined in the diagrams. By context, the words above 2014 says "trial and testing", above 2015 it says something along the line of "creation of logistic system", and above 2016 it says "review reliability".

Assuming that the 2016 review reliability takes only a year, you can then start to fit those engines onto the J-20, which would result in a IOC of around 2018-2019, which fits into General He's predictions.

Granted, there could be a 1-2 year delay beyond 2019, but that is hardly unheard of among advanced aviation projects.

The correct interpretation is that WS-15 and WS-10 have higher priorities than modifications of existing engines, as those two engines are parts of the immediate focus.

People have kept saying the WS10A engine has been solved and mass production and installed in J11B. I said if WS10A indeed equipped J11B in the hundreds like > 200s then that holds.

However according to Kanwa, did some google translation. the number J11B is low maybe like 62 in 6 yrs. That's Not very good at all, Definite mass production issue. The number is just lacking.

A bit misleading since I seem to remember the J-11B's production run starting a lot later, in 2008 or 2009, and given that they suggest 62 up till 2011, when we're all the way into 2013. Also, I'm pretty sure there's way more than 62 J-11Bs by now...Someone who does the counting want to give the actual number?

EDIT: Here we go :)

For the sake of future arguments, it's important to note that points about how the WS-10A is doing is time sensitive. It makes little sense to discuss problems a program has using evidence from 2011 if we're already in 2013, especially if a change has already been noted in between.

How many 117S and 117 had equipped aircrafts in Russia or anywhere else. In your theory, the 117S and 117 are not matured yet and there are problems with these engines?

Also... how many F22 are flying now... their engines are different from other engines used on US aircrafts... are these engines also having problem and not being mass produced?

I asked the above questions because of this sentence by you,

I said if WS10A indeed equipped J11B in the hundreds like > 200s then that holds.

Of course you can go on and on and on about how Chinese didn't had good track record, Chinese must always depend on others and the things like that... but what I am seeing is... WS10A had been equipping J-11B, and lets put quality aside (because, frankly speaking, I am not too good with these type of stuff) but the Chinese find it good enough to go on their first line fighters and obviously that is good enough an indication that the engine is mass produced because no sane person would put untested, and dangerous engines on frontline fighters (common sense anyone?)
